Re: HALAL /HARAM
Doesnt make sense!
No person can declare something to be Haraam or Halaal. Allah has done that already. So there is no need to prove anything.
Besides, everything on this earth that Allah has created is Halaal, unless declared Haraam for whatever reason.

Alhamdullilah, I have never come across any such person.
Don't listen to such people, ignore them and pray for them to Allah that Allah show them the right path.

True..its just that I have had people say some pretty weird stuff like I know a friend..who is like serious when she was saying this"she said that you cant say the work "pig" as its harm word and your prayers wont be accepted for so and so days"..I said how can that be its mentioned in the Quran as "khanzeer"..I mean it just doesnt make sense..anyway U r really right that one should pray for them to show them the right path:)
Re: HALAL /HARAM
^ Yea I heard the same thing. I knew this girl who said the same thing that u cannot say the word "pig" and I'm like 'what?'

Re: HALAL /HARAM
Those are people who have no education and knowledge of what they are saying, they just repeat what is told to them or what they heard/read somewhere. And just belive in it blindly. They should start using their brains and think logically.
Actually, shall I tell you. “Khanzeer” or pig is Haraam to eat, its not even Haraam to touch, so if you were to touch it then it wont make you “Napaak”. Not that I’d ever want to touch it :ewww: but still.. just thought to tell you.
Yes but still bing Haraam and all, all income and trading of Haraam products (including pic) are Haraam.
Waisay, I also know a molvi at a masjid here, he is also like tells youngsters to not to wear t-shirts to Masjid and stuff (yet there is no ruling as such in Islam), and not to cut their hair the way they have..
I personally think, he dicourages them to come back to Masjid, as some might just stay away from Majid, because of this.
Re: HALAL /HARAM
…me scaared now…wrath of Shikra…
Re: HALAL /HARAM
That is the problem…most people donot use the logic and repeat the pattern of behavior and its quite sad to watch them teach the same things to their children. As in the lecture by Jeffrey Land, he was saying that in real worl we push our kids to attain higher and higher education and when they use the same way of thinking to Islamic teachings and aski logical questions…most parents, because of less knowledge on their own parts, shut them up by just saying"Oh dont ask such question..u r not supposed to"..it just alienates the kids..![]()
That act of making the kids so uncomfortable in the masjid or anywhere is just pretty mean I would say…Its better that they come then not come at all…and one never knows what finally hots home to them.Waise Gizzy have u tried to convey your opinion to him in a nuetral sort of way?
I know in our close masjid the Molvi sahab just put so many regulations that eventually people start going less and less…
Re: HALAL /HARAM
^-- Sadly no, he is a molvi of masjid in a different city, and I only come there once in a blue moon.
But luckily and fortunately not all Molvi's are like this. As the Molvi saab of the masjid where I go in our city, is so considerate and a sensible person. Also very loving to the kids and youngsters. Always says salaam to them. Another thing is that he never talks negative about anyone or anything, and never talks about politics.

That is such a good way:)..May Allah make more molvis that way:)
