Since donkey meat is Halaal in Islam [some categorize as “taba’ii”] so if sold as such [customers must be told what they are buying], it should be alright. disguising it as beef or whatever is cheating hence unacceptable. i don’t see any problem if people are willing to knowingly buy them because it’s cheaper and hence more affordable.

Donkey Meat was categorically made haraam by the Prophet (saw). There are sound hadith narrations on it.
