Hadith al-Thaqalayn: The Two Weighty Things

It seems that the fitlh of Nasibism removes one's sight. The reply was already made to you in post 12.

also it is clearly mentioned in quran that such ayah reveilled for mothers of ummah why you just picking one portion from ayah even this is continious sentense not new or another sentance.

you are denying quranic verse like you forefathers.
[/quote]
Talking of forefathers, then dont ask for it otherwise you will be the one wandering embarrassed here and there, but may be not, that is the sign of shamful people only.

boy nice, you are not aware that there are many kind of hadith-e-kisa one says that such event was act at hz. ayesha siddiqa ra residance, one says it was hz. hafsa ra residance and many says another mother of ummah but do beleived that what prophet pbuh says in his pbuh last sermon is most authentic one since ravi of such even is more then 100 thousands.

hope answer the question.

Who are you to declare anything "more authentic" than the other? Do you personally have any authority? And yes I know that verse of purification was revealed several times and each time, the people to be addressed in the verse were same, and if you have any tradition contrary to the fact, you are free to bring it here, otherwise your personal arguments is not going to make any difference.

Re: Hadith al-Thaqalayn: The Two Weighty Things

Jan1001, either you are a 10 year old kid who doesnt know much or you are a jaahil. Now read with eyes wide open how many Sunni scholars have authenticated it:

VERSION ONE:

O people, I am only a human being and I am about to respond to the messenger of my Lord . I am leaving behind Two Precious Things (Thaqalayn) among you. The first of the two is the Book of Allah. In it is guidance and light. So get hold of the Book of Allah and adhere to it." (The narrator, Zayd ibn al-Arqam said: Then he urged and motivated (us) regarding the Book of Allah . Then he said), "And my Ahl al-*Bayt (family). I urge you to remember Allah regarding my Ahl al-*Bayt. I urge you to remember Allah regarding my Ahl al-*Bayt. I urge you to remember Allah regarding my Ahl al-Bayt
Sahih Muslim, part 7, Kitab fada'il al*Sahabah [Maktabat wa Matbaat MuhammadAli Subayh wa Awladuhu: Cairo] pp. 122-123

VERSION TWO:

I am leaving behind among you that which if you firmly hold onto, you will never go astray. One of them is greater than the other: the Book of Allah, a rope stretching from the heavens to the earth, and my progeny, my Ahl al-Bayt. The two will never separate until they meet me at the Pond. Watch how you treat them after me.

Sayyid Hasan Saqqaf has declared it sahih in his Sahih Sharh Aqidat al-Tahawi, p. 654 (published by Dar al-Imam al-Nawawi). Al-Albaani too has declared it sahih in his Sahih Jami' al-Saghir, Vol. 1, p. 482 (Maktaba al-Islami).

VERSION THREE:

I am leaving behind among you two successors: the Book of Allah, a rope between the heaven and the earth and my progeny, my Ahl al-Bayt. The two will never separate until they meet me at the Pond.

Hamza Ahmad Zayn in his authentication of al-Musnad (Vol. 16, p. 28, Dar al-Hadith, Cairo) declares its chain hasan. Al-Haythami in his Majma' al-Zawaid (Vol. 9, p. 162, Dar al-Kitab al-Alamiya) declares its chain good. Al-Albaani on his own declares it sahih in his Sahih Jami' al-Saghir, Vol. 1, p. 482 (Maktab al-Islami).

VERSION FOUR:

I am leaving behind among you two successors: the Book of Allah and my Ahl al-Bayt. The two will never separate until they meet me at the Pond.

Al-Haythami has recorded it in his Majma' al-Zawaid (Vol. 1, p. 170, Dar al-Kitab al-Alamiya) and declared: Tabarani has recorded it and its narrators are thuqah.

I am leaving behind among you two successors: the Book of Allah and the Ahl al-Bayt. The two will never separate until they meet me at the Pond.

The authenticator of Musnad Ahmad (Vol. 16, p. 50, Dar al-Hadith Cairo), Hamza Ahmad Zayn says: "Its chain is hasan".

VERSION FIVE:

It is like I have been called and I will respond. I have left Two Weight Things behind among you. One of them is greater than the other: the Book of Allah and my progeny, my Ahl al-Bayt. Watch how you treat them after me, for the two shall never separate until they meet me at the Pond. (Then he said) Allah is my Master, and I am the master of all believers. (Then he held Ali's hand and said) Whosoever I am his master, this (Ali) is his master. O Allah, love whoever loves him and be hostile to whoever is hostile to him.

Al-Hakim has recorded the hadith in his al-Mustadrak (Vol. 3, p. 109, Dar al-Marfat) and said: This hadith is sahih on the conditions of the two Sheikhs though they have not recorded it in full. Ibn Kathir too has recorded it in his al-Bidayah wa al-Nihayah (Vol. 5, p. 228, Mu'sassat tarikh al-Arabi) and said: Our Sheikh Abu Abdullah al-Dhahabi said: The hadith is sahih.

VERSION SIX:

And whosoever Allah and His Messenger are his Master, then certainly this one (Ali) is his master. I have left among you what, if you hold firmly, you will never go astray: the Book of Allah, one end is in His Hand while the other end is in your hands, andmy Ahl al-Bayt.

Busayri said: Ishaq has narrated it from a sahih chain (Itihaf al-Khaerati al-Mahr, Vol. 9, page 279, No. 8974, Maktaba al-Rushd, Riyadh). Ibn hajar al-Asqalani too in his Matalib al-Aliya (Vol. 4, p. 65, No. 3972, Dar al-Ma'rfat) states: This is a sahih chain. The authenticator of Al-Sakhawi's al-Istijlab (Vol. 1, p. 357, Dar al-Bashaira al-Islamiyyah), Khalid ibn Ahmad Samee says: The chain is sahih.*

Re: Hadith al-Thaqalayn: The Two Weighty Things

Since he claims to be speaking for Sunnis, I therefore find it important to cite the opinions of top Sunni Imams on this issue.

Mullah Ali al-Qari puts it nicely here:

Holding firmly onto the Ahl al-Bayt (as in Hadith Thaqalayn) means loving them, defening their rights, acting by their
narrations (of the Sunnah) and basing one’s religion upon their words.
Mirqat al-Mafatih, Vol. 9, p. 3974

We all know who Mullah Ali al-Qari is of course! He is one of the highest ranking Sunni Imams ever!

Shaykh al-Munawi states:

The Holy Prophet made the Holy Qur’an and the Ahl al-Bayt his successors and instructed his Ummah to be kind to them both, to place their rights above their own and to hold onto them both in the religion.
Fayd al-Qadeer, Vol. 3, p. 20

Shaykh Hasan al-Saqqaf writes:

Holding firmly onto the Ahl al-Bayt (as in hadith Thaqalayn) means loving them, defending their rights, copying their manners, following their guidance and conduct, acting by their narrations (of the Sunnah), basing one’s religion upon their opinions, statements and jurisprudence and to prefer them above all others.
Sahih Sharh al-Aqidat al-Tahawiyah, p. 653

Ibn al-Athir said:

The two (i.e. Qur’an and Ahl al-Bayt) have been called Thaqalayn (i.e. the Two Weighty Things) because holding firmly onto them and acting by their instructions is a heavy (responsibility), and it is said that everything that is weighty is precious. The two have been called Thaqalayn in recognition of their authority and importance.
Al-Nihayah fi Gharib al-Hadith, Vol. 1, p. 216

Al-Nawawi said:

The scholars said: The two have been called Thaqalayn to show their ealtedness and the greatness of their importance. It has also been said that the word is used to show the heaviness of the (responsibility to) act by their instructions.
Sharh Sahih al-Muslim, Vol. 15, p. 180

Al-Zamakhshari states:

Jinn and man have been called the Two Weighty Things (i.e. Thaqalaan, as in Qur’an 55:31) because both of them dwell on the earth, and are actually the two most important beings on it. The Qur’an and the itrah have been likened to them because the good health and survival of the religion is dependent upon them, just as the survival of the earth is dependent upon the existence of jinn and man on it.
Al-Faiq fi Gharib al-Hadith, Vol. 1, p. 150, Dar al-Kutub al-Alamiyah, Beirut

Of course, it is better that the Nasibi and his ilk abandon their dishonesty and accept the Truth themselves! It is not right to lie to others in order to prevent your creed from collapsing.

i am nothing i am presenting views of ulma-e-haq, and also for your information if a hadith contracted with quran even sahi muslim will have to follow quran not hadith.

and your baseless comment have no worth since such ayah reveilled onces, and also hadith-e-kisa event was acted onces, do you play game with religion.

also did you have any authentic saying of hz. ali ra that they announced in public that he ra is imam and other then him ra no one have right to govern muslim even when hz ra was in power and also did he ra told to charged kalima. prove me authentic saying and also in public not fake and fabricated quotes of so called imams.

Thank you for contradicting your previous posts and hence proving as a typical Nasibi. It was just in your previous post [No. 22] that you had stated that there were many ocassions wherein verse of purification was revealed:

I think that is suffice to show to the extent of your immaturity you have been pursuing in this forum all this long.

As mentioned many times in the past, the problem with such threads is that it becomes difficult to stop people from commenting against some specific suhabas (r.a) which can not be tolerated here, because a lot of readers respect them and don't want to listen to anything disrespectful against them.

Brother AliJan, if you search past threads you would realize that most of them were closed because of the same reason. We can't stop everyone from making comments, because they have a right to share here their beliefs, but at the same time we can't allow disrespect of people whom any particular group of people love and respect.

I have no other option but to also close this thread, because when people can't come to common terms and have major differences in beliefs, it leads to personal attacks and hurting of feelings of the readers. Let us concentrate on the matters that would be asked from us in grave regarding "our own deeds" instead of controversial matters, the ultimate judgment of which only belongs to Allah (swt).
