hmm, assumptions galore… thanks to those who are mature and have been through all these experiences and if not than atleast have come across people who talk about such things or have preferance for one physical attribute over another. I do not have a preference but why can’t we ask questions regarding men and their appearances. A mere shift in the angle , a slight change in perspective and lo and behold… you are castigated. Why must it always be abt skin complexion of females and moti vs patli gal and guys stance on that. … sighs, infact if at all I shld be more concerned being female at such a point in my life when I get rishtas, I got these braces on but do I care… No.

That was a sarcastic question. Though almost all desis like to think of themselves as living on top some high plateau of rightousness where they are not preturbed such things as fair or beauty, my experience has been that its all a facade we like to show (self included). We ALL have very stereotypical thinking processes cause we grew up in a very stereotypical thinking culture and even if we try to say we arent, subconciously we do things that show that we are. So bad teeth, bushy mustaches, slim or fair, these are all major issues for most people looking/considering others.
And when we all sit around and claim we "arent" that way, then all I have to say is show me the person who went out and married an ugly person or a dwarf or a person who looked like a dark african.
Perhaps we confuse politeness (and been politically correct) with been honest but they are not the same thing. And it is rather sad that we dont have the confidence to just be honest.
Minerva, don't most smokers have bad teeth? And these days it seems like every single person smokes...
and not to mention panoris ewww though thankfully there arent many of those in our generation...
well i really agree mehnaz over this issue kay its totally foolish if the larka/larki rejects some ristha over such childish matters but ya under some circumstances it does become a little unsual..i.e grayish/yellowish teeth eww..jo bihh
but i was over surprised bcz of this incident that took place recently near my place. Ok there is this family whose larka was loooking for a ristha and he was MBA and he was good looking as well (heard/told) so he wanted someone reallly hot shot and hmm thats wot he he has told his parents aur his parents r like ok fine we will find you something nice and pretty much very best of lahore lol..this is funny though anyways, so this family do get a ristha and they were told that there were two of the sisz and showed their picz but at first instant they rejected it bcz both of them were bit fat or weighty let say (heard/told) so phir the lady who had told them of the rishtayz and showed the picz afterwards told the guy and his family kay app ko nahi pata this family is from UK they r not local and they hold foreign status so then out of blue the larka was ready to marry the larki just in the hope to go overseas or jo bih his intentions thi..
Now this was really pathetic and its apparent that this guy is certainly not sincere from the first moment and bechari larki god knows woh kia soch rahi ho gi and i really felt bad after hearing this off my aunt who is kinda related to guys family. i dont know its some new trend of pakiz kay if the larka/larki holds foreign status so phir regardless of her/his looks or jo bih must be married at the frist instant...

^exchange the words larka with larki ... same outcame just different genders. Both sexes are fairly even handed in getting what they want at whatever cost they can.. its not just a guy thing.

Perfect teeth are not a must. Sometimes slightly craggly teeth have character. What I hate are those fake Hollywood smiles. As for nails, I like a guy with rough hands and some dirt under his nails. I don't want to hold soft, sissy hands. My guy has to work and have some callouses from lifting weights too.
