I guess main issue of discussion was if these guys are "shaheed" or not and not if we should make it legal or not. Unfortunately (for Maulana Qaim Ali Shaha) if people die after drinking legal one's they will still not b shaheed.

I don't know whether this was ridiculous or senseless statement and what was the intended purposes (though its far fetched to say that it was for attracting voters as the incident happened in MQM stronghold and PPP has no chances to penetrate there just with statements like this). Having said that this was a better statement than the statement 'sharabi the.. kutte ki maut marre'.
