I think it's a very difficult look to pull off for Asian women, but I agree with most posters.

It is definitely a classic and is VERY classy and beautiful if done right (right tone of red, play down the eyes, minimal color for the rest of the make-up) and of course, the right attitude and attire.

As for the comment from the guy - doesn't matter how she looked, he shouldn't be judging or commenting in such a RUDE way. His choice of verbiage is very demeaning.

i dont think it looks slutty, i just dont think its in nowdays.... it looks good on Aishwaria in the late 90's. Right now i love nudes.... so im not so much into reds or burgundys.

Oh and also I think the chic in the song Khabi arr was wearing a burgundy towards the end of the song, i think that looked really hott with her burgundy choriyan... thats my only exception...

looks good if you have the right shade of red. And if you're going bold on the lips, then you need to keep your eye makeup minimal. I also think red lipstick looks especially hot on fuller lips. I prefer a more blackberry shade of red, which is a reddish brown combination. It looks good on olive skin tones.

red lipstick looks slutty. It looks like you want attention but all in the wrong way. It does not suit most tanned skin.

I like variants of matte brown lipsticks. It could be light brown, orangy-brown, nude brown, or reddish brown. I can't do a pure red lipstick. It has to be toned down greatly with brown.
