i have one shalwar where it looks like almost this is happening, it wasn't great quality silk at all and very flimsy but i didn't get to chose the material for that one. my other shalwars are all 80gram raw silk and it's never happened.
i think since noname is replacing your shalwar without any charges, the issue is resolved. just ensure it's much thicker quality silk this time. next time, i'm sure she will take care over it and as you said your other outfits were fine.
Shazzy:is it half sleeved? Sometimes a halfsleeved outfit entangles with the fabric below underarm area due to stone work..
This is very true as a general point. I had an outfit in the past made from someone else that was lovely but the dabka on the kameez area that comes in contact with the arms kept catching. Always make sure my outfits don't have kaam there now....
^ true, even three quarter sleeves do that sometimes, but as you said its Normal.
nomame I stand by my word those mehndi suits were excellent the quality the design the embroidery everything! I have no complaint against them just with this karma pink as you know I really loved it & couldnt wait to wear it :(
Thats why it totally escapes me, how the SAME fabric can do this? and to my confusion since you sent me the image i shall give you a new shalwar.
hey girls just want to make one thing clear. i am not taking any sides here., but alot of you people living abroad think that good quality cloth is not used.
we here in pakistan consider good quality, raw silk, cotton raw silk, pure crepe(grip), pure georgetter or malai pure, pure chiffon. all these materials are really delicate. you CANNOT was them. Most of teh times teh raw silk pants comes what do usay CHIG jatein hein because of the material.
u guys think good quality is that they will not get spoilt, the thing is THEY WILL because they are PURE and We have to take toooooo extra care of them. chiffon if not washed properly drycleaned loses its color, there are soem colors that we dye that start coming off u on yr body or even on other clothes while ure wearing them.
whereas cheap quality is relaly cheap and the cloth is more strong. they dont come apart from the seems and they dont chijofy as well.
even if u use pure satin for pipins that color runs out. so u see all thsi happens.
acha as far as work falling off is concerned u cant do anything about that muhc. u see teh outfit travels such a long distance its thrown from one side to another , unless its properly packed in a box. all thsi wrk is delciate since its all hand work tioed up with dhaagas. so it happens.
my internship at sana safinaz has started and i see that happening there as well, its very normal and everyone understands that hand work mein yay sub kuch hota hai, stone work mein teh stones fall off , so we always send extra stones that u can paste.
please do not get offended. u shoudl ask nonameis to replace teh shalwar or maybe even fix the kameez. probably teh kameez aap kpo thoree tight ho gee that it came apart from the arms.
but i too have faced not these problems but someoen complaining that i have not used good quality cloth. good quality cloth will always need to be taken care of 200% more , it gets teared easily, stained easily, if ur bangles or rings say dhaagay nuikal aatay hein. but it loosk woweeee when uw ear it.
^ halelluja! Good one Sozan, you are right - pure cloth is considered amazing and is more expensive because it is more delicate!
Plus i like your idea of extra pastable stones. And a customer suggested that i put a paper between the layers of cloth, which i shall do from now on...
I understand that it takes a lot of trust and courage to trust someone you havent seen or met (which wasn't the case with shazzy uk) but you have to realize that we DO put in a whole lot of effort getting this stuff made, its not as easy as putting a finger on something and its yours! It takes a lot of times, energy, money and effort to get something as amazing as this made...
I personally OWN bina mahmood, karma, sana safinaz and HSY and some of them i have worn just once and the stones are shakey and by the second time they fall off...
What happened to the shalwar is SO VERY common!! it had happened to me when i was a little heavier since the thighs rub in and the material 'chigofies'. First wear it appears and second sometimes its spoiled...
Also when someone tells you they want a rawsilk shalwar, thats what you give them! and i am STILL giving a new shalwar free of cost and with FREE DELIVERY!
next time i shall put a disclaimer with the clothes! And advise on fabric too. phew!
I agree
half sleeves tend to do that easily
it's happened with my pure chiffon kameez due to the amount of work that was on the sleeves so while wearing them you have to be gentle :)
They werent half sleeved they were 3 quarter length, this is the first time this has ever happened to me after wearing an outfit once hence I was concerned.. noname the mehndi suits u sent me were not raw silk well the salwaar wasnt and the kameez was jamawar again not the same fabric as the karma pink..
Oh so this might be the reason one of my new outfits is coming off under the armspits area. Isn't there any way we could stop that? I dont feel good in synthetic fabric! and it seems that pure fabric has this issue all the time?
This is very true as a general point. I had an outfit in the past made from someone else that was lovely but the dabka on the kameez area that comes in contact with the arms kept catching. Always make sure my outfits don't have kaam there now....
Actually I dont think that’s true, most designers so pretty heavy embroidery on chiffon sleeves and if that was the case they wouldnt use chiffon/raw silk. I think the only way (or the slightest chance) the cloth underneath the armpits would start getting ruined is if the designer uses naqshi instead of good quality kora/dabka. Naqshi is around Rs. 6-8/tola and all strings get stuck in fabric and ruin it but still not to an extent that the fabric would come apart. Whereas kora/dabka that is around Rs. 15/tola gets stuck in fabric 96% less.
This dress has very heavy embroidery on chiffon sleeves but no one so far has placed any complaints of sleeves coming apart, used on the sleeves is kora, dabka, sequins, beads, cut pipes, tilla, pearls, swarovskis and add ons.
Another example of heavy embroidery on sleeves using Rs. 14/tola kora, beads, sequins, tilla, kundan, cut pipes and many add ons
Same case with stones, you get the fresh swarovskis/stones that are already in their holders and they wont ruin the fabric, even the good quality ones that arent in holders, their holders have nice edges that dont ruin the fabric. You can get low quality ones that are available at the rate of Rs. 35-50/144 stones/swarovskis and the holders that come with are horrible. The black one I posted has a whole line of swarovskis that are in holders but even when it'll rub against the shirt/underarms it wont ruin the fabric. Good quality chiffon has the power to hold upto 7kgs of embroidery!!
i have experienced kaam catching from both the metal claws from stone holders and cheap/larger size dabka. dabka catches when the metal at the end where it has been cut gets caught in fabric and pulls a thread, the dabka itself also tends to begin to unravel then too. if small sized dabka has been used and expertly sewn, the cut ends should not be sticking out to be able to catch on fabric.
even then, these are only matters of the odd thread being pulled. i do not like naqshi, i don't think any of my outfits have it.
My stance is still the same no matter what quality NO ONE can gurantee a 100 percent that it won't get caught with the fabric, I use the better of the diamonter quality as for stones without the claws, they are pasted with glue they look fine in some dresses like the Sobia axhar designs I have but not in others.
To say the least I ha e original karma original Bina mahmood outfits and all of them get caught or had to be catefull or be ready to wear synthetic or wear full sleeves.
So i bought a bag from Aldo once. After using it for a few weeks, i noticed the threading coming apart as well as one of the embellishments coming off. I took it to the salesgirl to ge ta refund and she said "oh I have a Louis Vuitton, it does the same thing, and I paid $1100 for it." (nevermind that she may be stupid enough to pay 3-months salary, but hey forty bucks is forty bucks).
So beware ppl who keep bragging about the designer stuff they own themselves-- the stuff they sell is cheap crap.
