growing healthy hair quickly

Re: growing healthy hair quickly

so guys the Perfectil's making me break out I think!

how much oil do you put for your hair. my hair is below shoulder length. are we supposed to totally soak our hair in the oil mixture? i do it twice a week and it doesn't make much of a difference

this is my hair length now:

i want it much more and longer

I’ve never heard of or used arnica oil for hair but here’s how it might work:

Poor blood circulation is one of the reasons for hair loss. The hardest place in the body to get good blood circulation is at the top of the scalp as it is the utmost point away from the heart. This is the particular reason why people are, by large, bald at the centre of the head. Insufficient blood circulation to the scalp means insufficient nutrients being delivered to the hair root, resulting in hair loss. So one way in which we can promote hair growth is to increase blood circulation to the scalp.

Arnica is a rubefacient herb i.e. when applied to the skin, it causes irritation/redness (in a good way!), dilates capillaries and increases blood circulation to the area. This is what eliminates the pain from that area. Hence, rubefacient herbs are commonly used in preparations for muscle soreness etc.

Another, less common use of rubefacient herbs (like arnica) is for increasing hair growth by exploiting their blood-circulation-increasing property.

Source: Weeks of research for one of the mini final year projects where we had to come up with a herbal/pharmaceutical product… we ended up making a hair mask in which cayenne oil was the active ingredient :hehe: Cayenne is another rubefacient herb commonly used in pain-relieving preparations.

Re: growing healthy hair quickly

^ omg cayenne! I didn't even think about it. Ok so these are all awesome ideas but which ones have people used and have worked?

^ It cost us around 20 euros to make that one container of the cayenne hair mask… And guess what… the supervisor gets to keep all products from all groups! :naraz: Otherwise, I was going to use this regularly and report the results here…

Though, during our research, we did see articles on the use of cayenne for hair and it has shown promising results… we even came across other products for hair growth that contained cayenne but they were in capsule form… I might make some more and start using it on myself as an experiment because my hair is getting really thin and I’m worried…

I cannot recommend this to anyone just yet… I was just trying to explain how such oils/masks are supposed to work… For now, its better to stick to the classic hot oil treatments because they are proven to work…

Re: growing healthy hair quickly

i've used vatika hair oil and it's worked pretty well for me alhumdulillah. mustard oil and amlay rethay work very well also.

Re: growing healthy hair quickly

can somebody answer my question about how much oil please?
does it depend on hair length? or do we only put it in the scalp or on all the hair....? i never get the right results.

It's hard to say how much oil. The longer and thicker your hair is, the more oil you'll need. I apply olive oil to my hair (massage the scalp with it...and also apply it to my hair...especially the ends...to avoid getting slip-ends). The oil is in a bottle with a nozzle...so it's hard to see the quantity that is applied.

I've been washing my hair with Meera's Herbal hair powder (contains shikakai, reetha, and other herbs) for the past few weeks....and so far it's been great. My hair doesn't fall much during the shampooing...and it looks healthier. I'm trying to grow it out...to my waist at least. It's almost half way down my back now. Back around Jan of last year...I had gotten a pixie cut...so I'm glad it's finally grown out.

Ok so I have a pixie cut and I hate it so much words cannot describe my hate. So let me get this right...

you apply olive oil (from a desi store? what particular kind) everyday? and you wash your hair with meera's herbal hair powder? do you feel like this combo speeds up hair growth? I know I've done my research and everyone says there is no miracle growth but a lot of people say your hair grows quicker in the summer so I'm trying to get a combo quickly here. Let me know all the details, thank yo uso much!!!

I use Meera's Herbal hair powder...that's the brand.

There may not be a miracle product that makes hair grow faster.......but I do believe that your hair is more likely to grow...if you're taking care of it. Know what I mean? In other words....if you're not eating a healthy diet.....if you don't take care of your hair........then you're preventing efficient growth. So far, AH, this combo is working for me.

Re: growing healthy hair quickly

OK below is the oil I used for my daughter's hairs. Because of prematurity she had very little hairs on her head and that too in patches. I have been using this hair oil on her once a week and masha allah she has got lovely hairs now.

Take sarso ka oil ( I believe it's mustard oil) put some grounded dana methi and kalonji (1 tsp each) in it and then put it in a clear glass container. Keep the container under sunlight for 10-20 days.

The above is an excellent formula for hairs.

and like RV said other factors like good healthy diet plays a vital role. Hairs fall and become rough when your body is not healthy and lack nutrients.

Re: growing healthy hair quickly

bbq.....that totally makes sense......the increased circulation of blood from arnica oil will help hair growth.

I have started using Amla shampoo that I picked up from some Indian store nearby. I've also bought the amla hair oil by the same manufacturer. Gonna start applying that twice a week as ammi used to do to me. Will let you guys know how it works out.

Re: growing healthy hair quickly

i'm going to go get meera's hair powder today. Mustard oil smells pee-yew

Looks like this:

Can also come in a small container.

Re: growing healthy hair quickly

ugh they didn't have it so I'm going to order it online. Thank you redvelvet! and you saw a real difference with this?

Re: growing healthy hair quickly

i'm going to try arnica oil mixed with coconut, olive, and almond oil. Yep girls I'm going all out!

Zamana, every product doesn't suit every person. What works for me ...may or may not...work for you. I can only tell you what my experience was. I've bought several cans of this stuff....I really like it. I've noticed a difference....so has my mom. That said, I can only hope that it proves effective to you....if it doesn't...then move on to the next product. It's all about trial and error.

My hair falls less....while shampooing. It's shiny. One of the ingredients (can't remember if it's reetha or shikakai) is a detangler....so it leaves your hair without tangles..making it easier to manage. Reetha is a plant that naturally produces foam....there are several plants that have this property (you'll find this with beans as well). I apply olive oil every other day (again...do whatever works for you)....I massage the oil to my scalp and apply it to my hair as well.....keep it on for 1-2 hours....and then shampoo with the powder.

How much you need can depend upon the length of your hair. I just use about 3-4 teaspoons....and add a little water to the powder to form a paste. Wet your hair....apply the paste....gently wash your scalp and hair....add a little water to your hair to increase the foam......and rinse as you normally would doing shampooing. When you wash your hair....do not....grab the ends of your hair and rub them on the crown of your head...as if you were going to make a bun on top of your head....that increases tangles...which can lead to more hair being pulled out.

I will warn you though...that the powder does have a pungent smell to it. Similar to henna. If you don't particularly care for this smell....then you can buy (from the GNC or Vitamin Shoppe/Pharmacy) a bottle of essential oil. I use lavender....and it's pretty strong. When I'm done washing my hair with Meera's........I take a pitcher and fill it with cold water...and to this I add about 4-6 drops of lavender oil...and give my hair a final rinse. This eliminates the odor.....plus cold water seals the cuticles and makes your hair shinier....and lavender is known to be soothing.

I hope this helps. It's pretty self-explanatory. You'll figure out what needs to be done and can improvise when you start using the product.

Re: growing healthy hair quickly

of course, I know different things work for different people. Thanks for the details but I'm really happy you brought up the smell factor... I detest the smell of henna or anything similar to it. Even with the addition of lavender I feel like the smell won't go away... ugh. I think I will try the olive oil definitely now. Is there a specific olive oil that you use?

Extra virgin olive oil (cold pressed)...which is pretty pure. From the supermarket.

Re: growing healthy hair quickly

thanks redvelvet for the detailed explanation :)
