yes Spock you are right. the match was in Pakistan and someone gave Walsh a carpet as a present for his sportsmanship.
India lost the match - TRUE
India lost the series - TRUE
KAPIL didn’t give the warning - NOT TRUE
Peter Kirsten was Banned - Not TRUE (He was fined )
Kirsten was doing that for previous two matches, Kapil had been giving him warning after after warning, but he insisted on doing that - Kapil had to do that, Finally - INDIA-SA 2nd ONEDAY REPORT . Infact Kepler Wesseles also got involved in the Incident and hit Kapil on chin with bat.

Let me quote from your own link...
/* begin
With re-
gards the Wessels incident Llyod took Wessels "word" that the
striking of Dev by him on the shin was not deliberate.
*/
so he did not get involved in the incident like you said... unless u believe clive lloyd is a cheat
I watched the match and saw what happened.

SPOCK, I dont know what are you trying to prove here. I think you are trying too hard.
First you lied about the Whole Incident - That Kapil didn't give warning then you lied that Kirsten was banned after that and if you read your previous post you only wrote in your post, well, Let me quote you -" ** I remember right there was a fight b/w Peter Kirsten and Kapil on that incident,* and wessels got invovled * **. "
I merely posted a match report link and seconded what you remembered.
Since you saw the match you remembered correctly about what happened and that's what you mentioned in your earlier post. So it was you who thought that Wessels got involved not myself and it is you,not me, who thinks that Clive Lloyd is a - Whatever.
About what I think about Clive Lloyd - You can never Imagine, Even an Imran Khan comes nowhere close to him in my book.

well i dont remmber much… plus i have had a short life
http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/blush.gif
so there for i do remmber a test where 4 pakis made centuries against sirilanka in sirnilanka it was amazing
http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/tongue.gif
or the one where wquar tok was it 7 or 6 wickets against england last year when they came over
By saying Wessels got involved... I meant that Wessels joined in the argument b/w the kapil and kirsty... In case you didnt know, that shin hitting incident was after a few balls.
Kapil gave no warnings to Peter Kirsten... I saw a replay of the match a few days back. Kapil didnt' act like Walsh due to some run out decision that involved Azhar.

shahid afridi and imran nazir open for pakistan in the sharjah match against south africa....
they r doing well and have an opening partnership of around 125 and klusener comes into bowl....
afirdi hits him for a big one straight over his head and kallis just starts running towards the boundary (at long on i think) and then all of a sudden jumps to his right and the ball is in hand and afirdi is OUT, caught by Kallis....
was it a fluke or was it just another day in the field for the south africans - it was AMAZING!!!!
the match in which rajesh chauhan had hit 6 in the last over and won the match for india against pakistan was interesting too...this match was played in pakistan..

Yeah, That was an intresting match. Another Intresting match was in In the Independence Cup in Dhaka, Where Pakistan score some 330+ runs while batting first. Inida won in the last over where our player hit a four on second last ball of the innings.

That might be a interesting match from your point of view, but for us it was dull, the pitch was slow as ever.
The match that I was most interested in was the match when saeed anwar scored 194 against India, the match that was even more exciting was sanath Jayasuriya's inning of 189 against INDIA!
That was the best batting performance I have seen in years.
Thank you, come again
The Game Responds:
* What makes The Game laugh here is that instead of discussing *truly* great sporting moments, moments where Pakistan ridiculed India and vice-versa are being discussed;Classic. People,That Is All.*
It's not how you play The Game,*shmucks,it's how The Game plays you.*
I dont know If you are speaking for yourself or Entire Pakistan - As far as I know and according to DAWN REPORT it was a ‘heart -throbbing thriller’.
About the matches where Saeed score 194 and Sanath 189, Well they were intresting in their own way esp the second one where India were dismissed for 54 (which became the highlight and Jayasurya’s fabulous effort went almost un-noticed)

The thread is about Great Sporting Moments, therefore please do not critcise other peoples choice. Stick to your own glorious moments only. Any further criticism will be deleted in its entirety.
I also agree with the game as to the direction the thread has taken. This is rather unfortunate. So please take care and stick to the thread.

the 1992 world cup match...
india vs australia...
india needs 5 run or something from the last ball ...srinath hits the last ball quite well...thinks it's going for six..the indians start celebrating...and meanwhile dean jones somehow reaches at the boundary but drops the catch...but he does throw the ball back to the pitch where indians are celbrating and suddenly ...its all over..
australia wins that match..
the most interesting aspect of the match was that india had scored at an average of 6 for the last 25 over ...
another classic moment, i might have mentioned it somewhere but it deserves a separate post!
Asif Mujtaba hitting a six of the last ball against Australia in Hobart to level the match. Waugh bowled a bouncer to him, even though he knew Pakistan needed 7 runs to win and a six would get them a tie. The Pakistanis after the six thought they had won the match in the delight of that six, but they later realized it was a tie, but in my opinion they won the match as they took it away from the Australians. It rekindled Miandads last ball six memories

Another great sporting moment
We are forgetting the classic sporting moments our Khan brothers brought us in Squash? Im referring to the infallable Jehanghir and Jansher Khan whose careers went on unopposed in squash.
Yes, Spock jehangir's acheivement's were legendary. For five years he not only never lost a match, he never even lost a game. Now that is saying something. I watched one of his game against an Egyptian opponent ranked number 4 at that time. The rally was over 100 shots and at the end of it all the Egyptian guy was shattered and lost the match from there on. That was quite a rally and a joy to watch.
94 World Cup Final, Italy vs Brazil, penalty kick time and Brazil win it.
Thank you, come again
There was this bald Pakistani guy who won the snooker world cup for Pakistan in 94 I think. I dont remember his name, but he certainly brought us a world cup and his name is worth mentioning. Anyone know his name?
I dont think we mentioned the greatest sporting moment of Pakistani cricket here! The 1992 World Cup. I mean the sight of Imran Khan holding that beautiful crystal cup in the 92 worldcup, that in my opinion was the best world cup ever!!! The biggest crowd in the MCG at that time came to cheer for the Pakistani and not the English team!
The greatest moment of that match was Inzi & wasims dazzling innings! No wait, it was wasim sending chris lewis for a duck! No wait, it was Imran bowling that last ball where Ramiz runs in to take that catch!!! Cant make up my mind! The entire match was magic! We finally got to see an otherwise emotionless and proud Imran Khan in tears with emotions!
--
The game, even your own greatest sporting moment revolved around rediculing India; it was that srikanth issue, where waqar knocked his stumps out after he was given a 2nd chance by imran.
Oh, and Asif, I 4got to ask you, why do you think Imran Khan is a cheat? I think he was a fair guy...
