People tend to search for things on google which they do not have an idea, knowledge/info about.

No wonder. Almost all the net cafe's i have been to in London donot allow people to watch porn sites. IN Pakistan its the opposite.

The only word most Muslims would equate with porn is sex…

I think the main reason behind this is the illiteracy in our country.
Our government did evrything to spread the Internet but did not think what the people will do with it. And they are doing what they might have done and what they did with VCR, Satellite and any other medium. They don’t have the knowledge, skills and oppertunities to benefit from these inventions of science and they use it for their basal desires instead of using them in scientific research and their own development.
I also wonder what we will do with the “Broadband” if it comes in Boom. The same thing we are doing with dialup and low spead or capped DSl. And even more energetically. Instead of downloading megabytes of porn data daily, Gibabytes of data daily.It will become the Broadband Porn Bonanza. (Remember the post in the forum where a user posted a screenshot of a Worldcall user here) The people are the same, the skills are the same. Only a slight portion of the population will use it for benefit. The rest will continue to make Pakistan on top of the google trends lists and wil top even number 1 if google assigns a new number above one like “super 1”. If 68 % of Korean Population uses Broadband and gets 100 KBps at $0.25 per month, there may be people who visit these p0rn sites there but a large portion of their population is highy qualified and use it for their sceintific and technological development.
And this same thing points me towards another thing. Sexual energy is an energy and wherever it is in excess, it means there is lot the person wants to express but does not find healthy channels to express it. (nOt with every person but with majority of people. If you have read a litle psychology , you wil agree with my statement). This google trend (if it is correct) shows that Pakistanis are the most energetic people in the world but are not finding channels to express their creativity and thus are engaged in petty things. If they are given adequate oppertunities to develop in the country they may surpass everyone in the world !
A Thought. The thoughts may be a little heavy for the forum but just thoughts.

I believe it has more to do with supression and frustration. The more you close down on a thing the more people will look for it.
