It’s time for me to say goodbye to gupshup. really enjoyed knowing all you wonderful people. i know i hadn’t been too good out here, was always on the lookout for picking fights, and probably offended more folks than i got friendly with. sorry to all those whom i offended. it has been a real learning experience for me, especially in helping me see how biased, narrow-minded and self-centred i have been at times. can’t say i have worked on it much (especially since i do luv the kick of a dirty debate on the politics and religion fora), but atleast now i know i am not the perfect guy i thought i was. besides that, it was nice to get to know a different culture. and like someone else already pointed out, you guys are the best. this has been my fav. spot on the net for over a year. but like some old philosopher said, all good things in life must come to an end.. i’ll certainly miss you all. if anyone wants to reach me, you can email me at [email protected] .
btw, found lots of folks enquiring about HumSa. mah RAW contys from pekhawar tell me she’s gotten engaged, and has also started to attend uni, so she’s damn busy. unless she’s turned into another guppie and is hiding in the ship itself..
coz i got one month of free time left before i get busy with grad school in a continent i have never been to, and i want to spend this one month shuttling between my father's and mother's native villages.. no net, except for a one hour mailing session a week.. :-(
Jiss grad school mein ap ja rahey hain, wahan pey Computer Nahi hai kiya? Agar hai, to Internet nahi hai kiya? In this day and age, how can you NOT stay connected?
As for being busy during grad school: I dunno man.. waqt hota nah, nikala jata hain.... and during schoolz dayz, there always time for fun..
Hey queer,
So shouldn’t the word be “au revoir” ? You could always come back you know, after a month. Anyway…your views were pretty refreshing (although a little too idealistic at times
Jaytay naaheeN ditay chaii,
To boo jaytay ditay hoye...
Get it translated! laugh!
And how can this temporary parting begin but without,
"I have got my leave. Bid me farewell, my brothers! I bow to you all and take my departure.
Here I give back the keys of my door-
and I give up all claims to my house.
I only ask for last kind words from you.
We were neighbours for long, but I received more than I could give. Now the day has dawned and the lamp that lit my dark corner is out. A summons has come and I am ready for my journey."

Not that we are the same people, but I will be gone for a while too. starting on a project next week where I will be at client site for a month and i dont have internet connection....
queer my friend, I have left this forum for months at a time without ever checking in.
so, once u get settled at your new grad school (btw email me the name of yer uni, I may know ppl there)
so no goodbyes, I am not accepting your farewell and not responding to it.
good luck in your new continent. I'm sure you'll be just fine. people like you are too nice and it makes my job very hard. Drop in when you can. A narrow minded person is someone who can't give a reasonable explanation for his views. So nothing wrong with the odd difference of opinion.
In some parts of the world it is considered bad manners to say "I'm going" without adding "I'll be back". And the traditional response is, "Go and come back". So that's my answer to you! After all you do have good manners don't you?
We had a great time with you, Queer, and thanks for sharing about your part of India with us. As a Lahoria, I bestow upon you the Honorary Citizenship of Pakistan (including Kashmir). I am glad that Gupshup prepared you for Grad school. I remember you mentioning once that you were considering Renssealaer Poly, if that is where you are coming, NYC is only a day trip from Troy!
I will send you a note soon, and good luck with your further adventures into the world of academia and pain and suffering.
