'Abre Los Ojos' - the original movie on which Vanilla Sky was made. The original is bloody good. Vanilla Sky was just hollywood churning out rubbish versions of good foreign films.

'The Ring' - The Japanese... not the hollywood version with Naomi Watts.

'Photographing Fairies' - Brit art film... very very good...

'Amelie' - strange... funny and good....

'The Virgin Suicides' - Hollywood film... eerie.. thought-provoking... brilliant...

I saw another Spanish and French film which I loved... just can't remember the darn names!

cb06 , I have seen Amelie and ringu, Amelie is awesome. Ringu is better than ring. I will check out the rest of em. Thanks.

The Game Responds:

*Not similiar, but "Magnolia" is pretty freakin' awesome. People, That Is All.*

Bit controversial but nevertheless entertaining.

Irreversible (for excessive violence)
Y tu mamá también (for sexual content)

I saw Irreversible a couple of months ago. Its French. I couldn't get over the scene where this guy busts someone’s head up with a fire extinguisher. That particular scene made waves in the media. I actually believed it was the real deal until I saw the making of the movie.

Life is beautiful.

Top three movies that you should immediately watch are Indochine, Cinema Paradiso, and Amores perros.

If you liked Donnie Barko then you might also like Devil's Backbone.

There's an Italian film called Malena starring Monica Belucci. I really want to see it cause it looks quite good but haven't had a chance yet. Anybody else seen it?

Mehnaz, I didn’t see it 'cause it brought back too many childhood memories of me and my 7th grade lady tutor.
