Going to Pakistan after a long time? What to expect?

Me too!

I’m a little confused, do you mean you were raped/assaulted by a desi harvey weinstein in karachi? Or are you complaining how it still makes you feel uncomfortable thinking about how you once were a victim in karachi, and not in london or ny? Some people for some reason believe it’s a bit more classy being robbed in london or ny then in karachi. A little clarity goes a long way, I guess.

In other news, six thousand people per year are attacked by goats in the US, and sixteen by sharks, yet all discovery channel puts up is a shark week when it is supposed to be called the goat week!

Yes I was robbed on my way to home from Karachi airport on January 29(me and my brother who came to receive me)! I don’t feel classy by being living in London! Yes I have also been robbed in London! And I had been a victim of racisms here in London mainly from black people!

The Karachi I know was never like this - I lived 50 years there - never felt unsafe before last 10 years or so!

Just by making comparison with other parts of the world - you can not deny the fact that currently there is a bad law and order situation in Karachi and everyone seems frightened there!

So the city was nice to you for a good 50 years, yet failed at protecting you for your entire lifetime? Makes sense, I guess

I’m fit enough to make a comparison because I’ve never been robbed once in the past 35 some years of me living in karachi. I can also count all the people who are british/us nationals but still choose to live in karachi. The only time they go is when they want their kids to have that there citizenship.

No offense, but the only person who is frightened here is you

Sorry to hear that you got robbed on the way home from the airport, that is the most vulnerable time for a traveler. That is a life altering loss for many. Just how survivors of an earthquake develop lifelong fear of tall buildings, I have seen people who got traumatized for life after such encounters. I have heard that it is the porters in the baggage-claim area who tip off the dacoits waiting outside.

Although not much could be done but travelers should not get misguided that all is the same just how it is everywhere else. I try to hide in plain sight by keeping as low a profile as possible, not talking to strangers, and keeping an eye on anyone following me from the time of landing. Unlike in the past there is zero police patrolling at night now and everyone is on their own. Last but not the least, never ever resist or try to act smart during a robbery.

You say all this while you have your own chosen government handling everyday affairs, same govermnent you tend to defend left right and center here? Awww, aren’t you so cute! :hehe:

I know for a fact you went through extreme trauma ever since you let us aware you own a cat, and then be kind enough to share how you had zero knowledge about how to transport it to your retarded destination. My point is, Karachi can definitely be a schitshow of sorts for people who legit act like pussies, and you’re definitely not alone in the said game because it’s meant for real men and people only..

Zardari is the biggest patharaydar in Sindh.

I’m so sorry Mostar, i hope you and the family is Ok?! :flower1::hugz:

which city u going to?

Gentlemen and ladies, I have made a safe return from the land of Pak. But it was one hell of a trip. I nearly died in the 50 degree cold weather that they have over there. Mind you, I have survived -10 degree weathers in the eastern U.S however a mere 47-50 degrees took me out. I was shuddering and shivering the 3 weeks I was there. There is no central heating ANYWHERE in Pakistan. I'm sure even Imran Khan has to face stiff nipples in his mansion. The houses are so cold in the winter, there is no insulation, I don't think Pakistanis have even a slight concept of what insulation is. The houses are all made out of concrete. So in the winter, they're extremely cold. Imagine sitting inside a fridge. And not to mention taking a dump in Pakistani bathrooms. Imagine taking a dump inside a refrigerator. Then washing your buttocks with the waters of pristine Antartica. It gives your ass such a jolt that you feel as you've been struck by a smooth criminal.

The people of Pakistan have no concept of "Driving". It's as if you've given a 5 year old controller of your PS4 while you play GTA 5. Drive anywhere where you like, hit a donkey on the way who cares, traffic signal? WTF are those? Man I nearly died on our way back from Gujjar Khan on the GT road. Why isn't the National Geographic making a documentary of the most dangerous road to have ever exist. Oh yea I also got in to an argument with my BIL. Pakistan... It's just a crazy crazy place. Why the hell did I even go back. Oh yeah the whole three weeks I was there I contracted some Adina or Adeina throat virus or some crap. There aren't any antibiotics in Pakistan. The doctors prescribe you a thousand medicine none of which work.

I would highly advise you not to go there, unless of course there is an Iranian style revolution there and all the B.S is wiped out. And yes, one last thing. Your cousins will want an iPhone from you. Preferably an iPhone 11 Pro Max. Anything below is peasantry.

^ haha

I don't know why but I like this update of yours

thanks for the update of your trip

I also visited Pakistan after a long time this February and the weather was just lovely I took Iphn 13 with me and kids with their iPads. I enjoyed a loooooooot did shopping are different food and visited a village too
Do not worry much as long as you are not staying in a hotel or with strangers when you are with your family around you all the time you will be safe I would suggest not to go alone and not to use public transport and enjoy yourself

Ufff, thankyou for sharing this. Cannot stress enough how true of a representation this actually is of a country that is Pakistan. Thankyou :flower1:
