@ hareem yes ofcoarse, once my male friend came from pakistan and we wanted to eat gol gappay together exactly like we used to eat and enjoy in pak, so we went to southhall just to eat gol gappay and dahi baray. It was fun!
Plus as im working part time, so I just got to go lunch in groups never get a chance to go alone with any male, but if i have to Im sure he wouldn't mind, its his conservative family, even when I went with my friend he was more concerned k kisi ne dekh lia to bohot baatien banaye gay..lol

I wouldn't mind so much because i know what he's like that and he doesn't do that kind of stuff anyway but i know i can trust him..as long as they're not socialising after work hours? I mean he has a wife to come home to :p

I'd understand the more liberal posts if this was a predominantly White forum.. But since most of us come from a Pakistani background, if this hypothetical situation suddenly was real life, you'd all be fuming.

jaffs business lunches happen all the time and if you are on job or your manager is a lady what will you do?. But sometimes things happen. Usually its group lunches but once in a blue moon its one to one meeting lunch,one has to go. It is Not fine if someone is going for socializing in the evening or in the afternoon, than its a problem.

As far as I know managers aren't considered COworkers since they're one step above. That's a different story. I'm speaking for the majority of occasions.

what does going for lunch mean? that you make plans and go out of the office to some restaurant? or that you have lunch together at the work break room or cafeteria etc?
I think the answer depends on the people involved, the couple as well as the lunch guest.
In general I have no issues and i know she has no issues, she has been okay with much more frequent interactions with a colleague who was with me out of town at a client site, and it came down to trust.

Let no man tell his wife nor any woman tell her husband that a one-to-one eat out with opposite gender is strictly business ... they would be lying. It is social - they would be friends or friend-like colleagues who do this ... people who do one-to-one eat outs do end up talking about personal things ... the only time I can gather it is business is when it might be a boss who is the other gender or you are the boss and a dinner date with work was scheduled.
The jealousy is not about whether the other half is doing anything naughty ... but rightly so ... some quality talk time is being spent with someone else and that is a valid cause for a bit of jealousy ... at least give the wife or husband a chance to join in and share that ...

As long as he's not socializing with her outside of work (on his own)...and he's not giving you any reason to suspect that the relationship is anything other than professional.....why be insecure?

Ek insaan to phir bhi hoon na. I think Psyah has worded it beautifully. Often times people who go on one-on-one lunche do end up talking about personal stuff. It may or may not lead to more one-on-one lunches. Besides, I trust my husband but I don’t trust other women.
