Since my mom is a gardener, I dont really like the thought of clipping flowers. I dont like to see plants die off of stems. (Perhaps hypocritical in some ways due to my consumption of certain things.) But to be honest, I would rather receive a beautiful bouqet of a single type of flower in a pot, so that I can grow it in the yard and it can bloom over and over again, which would remind me of the first or whenever time that special someone gave me that gift.
