e.g. this bengali uncle working at the dunkin donuts next to my house gave me free donuts/coffee twice and the second time he asked me if i was married. i told him yes i was. then he’s like “oh still you can take my number and call me, wink wink it is the america! here nobody is care if you have husband or no, you know when you NEED me you call me wink wink” i wanted to pour the hot coffee over his khakis then, but i rolled my eyes and left cuz im sweet like that.
