I am not discussing how authentic Aisha’s feeling are over the Giants win, all I’m saying that the way your’e picking on her isn’t very nice. Whether she rejoices or not makes no difference to your life, and now that you have grilled her about it thoroughly still; has it profoundly changed your life? So since you dont get much out of this, how about you just leave her alone. It’d be the nice, if not the Islamic thing to do 
Also, i’m a fan of Pakistani cricket, but there winning or loosing doesn’t affect me one bit. Does that mean I should stop watching them play? because it has no effect on me?
Most ppl take sports as an entertainment, the boundaries of who can/ cannot support a team in the light of the country of residence is becoming more and more diffused.

I just didn't like the way she started the thread with a *one liner *(half liner actually)... it seemed like she just wanted to sound "cool" and "fit in," i mean, its pretty obvious. That really irritates me.

All I have to say is:
Stop the jock worship. It does you no good. So what if your team won? SO WHAT???
I hold the same opinion for all sports not just football.
If that's the case then everyone is a jock worshipper. Some follow sports, some listen to songs of their favorite singers, and many look up to their parents...the list is endless.
I follow sports in particular for entertainment purposes. I've finally witnessed my favorite team win a championship and the sense of satisfaction I got from it was like no other. It's been a week already and I still savor that day.
You're entitled to your opinion. But I highly disagree with it.

I've been a Giants fan since the early 90s. Last time they won it all was 17 years ago. The whole purpose of being the team's fan is to support them whether they win or lose. I supported them for a good 15 years and it's the first time they won. It feels mad good.

They have a quality young team and plenty of cap room to get better players in the market.
I didn't go to any games this year. I prefer to watch it on HDTV with all the snacks served to me.
