Ghost works with any version of Windows (or any other OS for that matter). It goes by sectors on the HD to create that image.
Just boot with the Ghost CD and once booted, go to the Recovery section and use the Legacy Versionof Ghost. See the screenshots below:
“Disk” “To Image” = When you are create the image (make sure its a different drive)
“Disk” “From Image” = When you are recreating the drive.
Ghost recognizes external USB drives.
