Wait a second, Galloway is an anti-war activist. He loved coming here to tweak Bush.
But for those of you who don't remember, and Galloway certainly doesn't, the sanctions were largely administered under Clinton. Clinton developed the policy of regime change, set up no fly zones, and set up the oil-for-palaces program. Additionally Clinton stripped down the CIA, and the Military, rendering less intelligence, and less useful intelligence. The Military had many divisions stripped away which could definitely be helpful in improving the security of Iraq now.
The United States Congress voted 98% in favor of "action" in Iraq, counting on weasling if things got bad. Most of the provisions of the Patriot Act were passed with flying colors, and most of the intelligence on Iraq had been reviewed by the Intelligence Committees for over a decade. Somehow its Bush this and Bush that, but the policy towards Iraq has been reasonably consistant sinece 1990, and it is not just the policies of one man. Even Kerry voted for it before he voted against it! :)
If Galloway wants to pick a fight, its gonna be with a lot of folks.... How soon we forget.

This would be funny if not so pathetic, now you’re blaming Clinton for Team Dubya’s lack of foresight of postwar Iraq, give it a rest OG.
If only Clinton’s father could have survived and talked to Bush I then maybe, just maybe, Dubya would have never used cocaine. I blame Clinton’s father for Dubya’s drug abuse.

alrighty, lets get back on track.
Two points OG;
- Galloway doesnae care who he picks a fight with. Hes always been that kinda guy. he didnae get kicked out of labour for no reason. Am so ruddy glad he beat back labours in bethnal green.
2)This is just an inquiry, not a court trial. If he comes out losing, it doesnae matter, for most people, hes won this already. He wasnt required to attend to the hearing and or even consider it worth his time, but i suspect he seized the moment and turned the whole thing around by shifting the focus on the real issues. :k:
3)He’s made his point, and thats what the media has picked up on. That is prolly exactly what he wanted. Galloway said what most people have been feeling for a long time and boy, did that lanky guy become real uncomfortable.

since when was this guy’s mission to “expose the hypocrisy of the Bush administration”???
sure, he put on the theatrical trial-lawyer style bravado and put on a great show…but what about the original purpose of his testimony? what happened to disproving the allegations about him receiving kickbacks and payments from Saddam via the Jordanian trader? After all the great one-liners and cool insults (and yes, they were impressive)…the only relevant parts of the testimony that i could gather were a basic “i’m innocent” denial and an “i don’t know where the money came from”.
i wonder how many of the muslim males here would still get on their knees for this guy if they knew that he bagged a Muslimah wife.

nikil speak about yourself if you get on your knees for guys thats your own choice and persoanl lifestyle i have no furthur comments on that.
As for george galloway he is nothing but a socialist plain and simple and what do socialists do they don't like capitalists he is basically using muslim sentiment i.e palestine, iraq to push forward his own socialist agenda its not difficult to see any person with an ounce of politcal thought can see through this.

Besides, the fact of the matter is: in a world where every other moron is cowardly and self serving - george Galloway has rekindled the idealistic and somewhat romantic flame of maybe-integrity. At the potential expense of his own reputation (which he has gone to the ends of the earth to clear) - and politial career.
He was even chucked out because of somthing he believed so strongly in. A martyr if you will.
Now, if you don’t mind you silly people am gonna go back to idolising him.

I am not denying that he is indeed a socialist, I am saying, the admiration lies in the fact that he said things as he saw them.

See the art of political debating has been lost in US the past 50 years and it certainly showed.
Galloway did an okay job, just so-so but if was enough to humiliate and destroy the senate. Just imagine if we send an englishman over the next time :)
