If you leave out Mazhar Ali...then YES..almost all MEN are negative or semi-negative in this serial (strangely...me too on a softer note... as far as the relationship between me and my daughter-in-law (Saadiya Sheikh...the youngest..fourth sister) is concerned.
Your question was posed on Iqbal Ansari and Haseeb Hasan by me too...and Haseeb responded that its just a truthful side we are trying to extricate of the MALE chauvenist (pig)! and somehow I agree with them....! MARD aik tarhaan se barree kameeni shakhsiyatt hai...bibi! aur mein unn mein houn ya nahin...ye meri begum ya meri teen (3) beitiyaan hee jaanti hein ya woh jo mujhe se qadray qareeb houn...both professionally and in showbiz!
thanks Arjay Uncle for your response. I am surprised to hear that you agreed with Iqbal Ansari and Haseeb Hasan's philosophy after raising the same question. Also surprised to see that Iqbal Ansari who has given us some wonderful work in the past would present such a one-sided picture of his own kind ;-)
Alas I was hoping for a different response.
Yanzala - it's not Arjay Uncle's fault that the girls are shown to be in full fashion/make up/jewelry when their daddy is shown to be completely broke. He's just playing a role that he was offered by the producers.
I just don't like it when as a viewer I am thought of as being easily fooled. I just wish that these plays did not insult my intelligence.
