hey ppl...i live in NY and want to get GEO..dishnetwork is saying ill have to pay $150 for dish and receiver, and will have to pay $14.99 a month even if i choose to get GEO only..is there a cheaper alternative?.regards

There are a lot of local (desi and non-desi) dealers who provide free dish reciever, satellite and installation. You can check them out.
For the monthly fee, you will have to pay regardless. Its $14.99 for one channel (GEO or PrimeTV) or 24.99 for Prime and Geo combined. You will also have to pay $5.00 extra a month for not having any americal channels (you need another dish for american channels subscription)
