‘Kashmir violence affecting Indian forces’ psyche’

SRINAGAR: A government study has shown that ongoing disturbances in Jammu and Kashmir have had an adverse psychological impact on Indian forces. They have led to mental disorders and abnormal behaviour in soldiers posted in Jammu and Kashmir. “Work-related stress and long hours of duty in a hostile terrain are taking their toll on the jawans, resulting in not only mental diseases but also other ailments such as ulcers, diabetes, blood pressure, tuberculosis and heart diseases,” said a study conducted by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The CRPF was recently entrusted with conducting operations in Srinagar, replacing the Border Security Force (BSF). The CRPF is the first body to present a compilation recommending a reduction in the number of years its personnel are posted outside their home territory. The CRPF study shows that cases of hypertension in the force have also shot up by 50 percent in the last four years - from 6,000 in 2000 to about 9,000 at present. As many as 1,300 personnel were hospitalised for psychological disorders last year. The CRPF is concerned that hundreds of its personnel are addicted to drugs or alcohol in an attempt to alleviate their tension. More than 400 such personnel have to be removed every year for lengthy treatment, the study reports. It says that these people would not have resorted to drinking or drugs had they been living with families or visiting them more often, as this psychologically helps personnel.
Though the CRPF takes care in providing hygienic food to soldiers on duty, the latter are engaged in such work that it is difficult to maintain a healthy routine, and therefore, they fall victim to various diseases, the study says. The study also says that the number of soldiers suffering from ulcers, in CRPF alone, has doubled in four years from 5,500 in 2000 to over 11,000 at present. In addition, nearly 1,000 soldiers suffer from heart ailments.

As we can see in this thread, the Indian Hindu’s here are calling the Kashmiri women liars, and practically dismissing every rape case in India as well, as fabricated and propoganda. Some have gone as far as in effect as saying that Kashmiri women deserve to be raped by Indian soldiers, because they provoke Indian soldiers to do horrible things! That is the mentality of the modern Indian Hindu.
