Gaming addictions

I'm a lego star wars and disney princess addict, I only get time on weekends. I play till my thumbs are sore! :(

Re: Gaming addictions

I used to be addicted when the PS2 came out with some classic games. Now it''s about graphics and story telling. These things ruined a lot of thrill and excitement video games used to have.

But you can catch me playing SF4 for hours every now and then.

Re: Gaming addictions

I love lego star wars!! I play it on my bro's wii!! :D

I am not addicted gamer..but i do game regularly with my friends. We get together every weekend or so...to play games. There is fellow co worker of mine who is also an orthopedic surgeon...his wife plays more than 4 hours each day. But it's fun..take the mind off stress. When i get married..i will sign contract with my wife to let me play games with my buddies every weekend..!!

Re: Gaming addictions

So true :chai:

Re: Gaming addictions

I am not addicted to Farmville but I am to Cafe World :/

Re: Gaming addictions

So weird.

That's exactly how we used to play back in the day. We used to get together for 4 player Dead or Alive tag team matches and would play from after isha till about 2 or 3 am on Friday or Saturday nights.

Re: Gaming addictions

OMG don't remind me of Dead or Alive... when I was like 12 or something and PS2 came out in to the market, I got PS2 and Dead or Alive.. and had tag team matches with my male cousins and friends who used to come over !! Loved it!! Mum hated the scantily clad women fighters and still hate them when she seems me play Tekken or something.

We used to play it on the Dreamcast. I later got DOA 3 and DOAU on XBox and DOA 4 for the 360. By the time I got the game, I could hardly find anyone playing it online anymore. In my case it's my wife who doesn't like the scantily clad female characters.

Re: Gaming addictions

Oh yeh I remember Dreamcast! It bombed and went out of the market. Well obviously your wife wouldn't like it ! :-)

Re: Gaming addictions

^it did lose to playstation but in terms of graphics and tech it was way superior to both n64 and ps1 at the time. And i absolutely loved its games, i mean sega and capcom, u cant go wrong with those companies.

Re: Gaming addictions

Yeh i think playstation 1 was the rage and so many games available on it that other people couldn't compete.. I love sega games and I have the sega game collection for ps3.. too! I love sonic hedgehog flickies island!

Of course it was ahead of the PS and N64. Technology wise it was pretty much on par with the PS2. It was the first console to do online gaming. That's when I got addicted. It had an awesome library, though many of its games were later ported to other consoles.

Give it up pal, you're talking to people who just skim on the surface.

It didn't really have anything to with that. Outside of Japan and especially in North America, the console was doing alright sales-wise. If we compare libraries, it could have also competed with the PS2. The major reason why it failed on the market was that Sega couldn't afford to support it anymore.

Re: Gaming addictions

What do you mean support it anymore? Were they going bankrupt or something?

That's right. It was all about the money.

Re: Gaming addictions

Or they were pushed out by Sony and it's big bucks. Sony had more money for everything; advertising (there was playstation sponsorship for everything that kids were into; music, skating, sports etc), more money to buy off developers for exclusivity (they literally paid people to make games for the playstation who othewise wouldn't have touched it with a barge pole), they could afford to sell consoles cheap and make losses on each sold (previously unheard of)... I could go on.
Corporate business at its best.

Dreamcast had some class games. Shenmue, Rez etc. Anyone?

Thanks :)
