On one hand many will be becoming losing faith and will consider religion as a block to becoming modern, success, better life , peace etc
And on the other hand, stricter version then their elders, thanks to the Saudi madressay , with many wearing niqaab, gloves/ socks and physical jihad, wajib Al qatil@ non Muslim and heavy recitation of Quran with no understanding of the meaning / tafseer
The sane party will be reduced or hide their faith
In all my recent experiences in Muslim majority countries I have not seen that to be the case. Then again, I’ve spent very little time in Muslim majority countries. However, this topic was asking about Muslims in the West.
But I’m talking about mixing bits of culture that **directly contradict **Islam..
You can’t call desi Islam “pure” when we have marriages arranged without even consulting the girls involved, living in large joint families, forbidding couples of different races from marrying etc
That is literally what I am referencing. People do not ever fully submit to their religion, they always work their culture into their religion or cherrypick what they want to follow and do not want to follow. Following religion in a “pure” way is a pipe dream.
^No, it’s perfectly possible to follow religion without mixing it with contradictory cultural elements..
There are plenty of “new generation” Muslims in the UK doing that.. keeping out cultural aspects that contradict Islam..
As I said, I’m not very practising, but I’ve come across a lot of people my age.. There’s a brilliant Youtuber (whose name I can’t remember exactly right now, Ansa or Hansa or something) who’s a good example of that..
Everyone is responsible for his/her actions as well what he/she contributes either directly or indirectly among others. I heard that staying on path of the ‘Deen i.e., Islam’ will be like holding burning coal in hands, regardless living in east or west / Muslim or Non-Muslim states.
