Re: Fussy kids in morning
My lovelies could bring me to tears they were so slow.....and this impacted on everything. they never had time to eat (and no doubt couldn't concentrate in class), always late for school and hence i was always late for work and i never ate either!!!!!
I just thought enough is enough!!!
Now they go to bed at 7.30 on the dot. They have their 11 hours of sleep. They have a clock in their room and downstairs so that they can SEE that time is going. This has proved to be really good trick because me yelling'you've got another 5 minustes' and then giving them half hour...the kids are not dumb.
Keep language and choices to a minumum and never NEGOTIATE.... ON ANYTHING!!!!
Make sure they get dressed first ( i used to make the mistake of getting them to eat first and then breakfast...bad choice..they alsmot never ate and therefore never got dressed on time).
Once they had eaten, were dressed and washed they could watch a bit of tele while i got dressed ( 10 mins max!!!).
IF THEY DO THE ABOVE THEN PRAISE PRAISE AND PRAISE SOME MORE!!!!!
You must establish a routine with them so that they know wahat happens next etc etc.
For some of you my way must sound like tough love ...but it works and now i don't get the 'late again?' look from the receptionist at their school.... (who has NO children so what does she know anyway...!!!
