Circular reasoning. I know my God is all knowing because he said he was. All Abrahamic religions claim an all knowing God and so do many others.

How and why was Mohamed made prophet? How did Allah chose him? What were the expected qualifications?

there is no doubt that only allah knows y did allah choose pbuh mohammed for being the last and the final prophet, but in 1 hadith read in bukhari pbuh says :
" i was sent in this world to complete all the standards of virtues". that means he was sent in this world to shpw the people the way of life , how they must life the their lives in wot manner???

to start with ,

when pbuh was born among the arabs,

**most of the arabs were engaged in in human and foolish activities like alcoholism, prostitution, killings, whenever there used to born a girl in any family some tribes people would bury her alive as soon as she is born, the slaves were treated very badly and womens were not given their respect , **

people would eat drink sleep and do wot ever they want,

they used to worship to the idols, and they would say they r our gods, they kept some for rain and some for food and some for light etc…

so in short when pbuh was born and brought up, during that period the whole arabs and u can say the whole world ( coz in other parts of the world also same things were happening as islam did not came in to the world) was in DARK ,
when pbuh used to see such things he would go and sit outside the city in the CAVE OF HIRA, CALLED AS “GAAR-E-HIRA” IN ARABIC. as he was fed up with such foolishness and bad things happening there,

before he was anounced as prophet he was by his nature very true of words and actions, when ever he would given any money or property or catTles to keep under his security he would be the best in that.
hEnce he came to be called as " AL AMIN" MEANS THE TRUTH FUL.

AFTER WATCHING AND KNOWING ABOUT HIM AS AL AMIN hazrat Khadija (ra) who was business women by profession hired him as a worker and sent hi, to syria for business, and to his surprise she got very gud benefit and profit in the part which pbuh performed, hence after watching his hardwork and his truthfulness and his kind nature hazrat KHADIJA (RA) sent an invitation thorugh her freind to marry pbuh, and pbuh accepted,

it was after some time that once pbuh was sitting in the cave of hira tired of the worlds darkness and follishness, he recived an angel JIBRAEL with the gud news of prophecy,

**the angel greeted him with " IQRA" MEANS TO READ OR TO RECITE, **
BUT AS PBUH WAS ILLETRATE(ILLETRATE BY KNOWLEDGE OF READING AND WRITING BUT HE COULS SPEAK AND UNDERSTAND WELL ) HE SAID “MA ANA BI QARI” WHICH MEANS I CANNOT READ / RECITE",

then it comes in hadith that the angel grabbed pbuh tightly and then he got the knowledge.

hence, in this way pbuh was revelead with the “SURAH AL ALAK” AND HE GOT THE GUD NEWS OF PROPHECY.

Atlantis, what zero1 is talking about is quite a metaphysical theory. In a sense, we all “existed” in some form of energy/matter, especially if you go for the superstrings theory

PCG - you are saying he (Mhd) was from the tribe that was involved in a lot of immoral deeds and that he was a ‘ladies man’. wouldn’t these disqualify him rather than qualify him to be prohet?

Well I’m a Pakistani and Pakistanis are immoral to the bone, generally. But does this generalization mean that I’m the same? That you’re the same?

Just because he’s from that sort of a tribe doesn’t mean he’s like the others. In fact, he was the poor member of the tribe, since his parents died when he was young and they didn’t have much in the first place either. Just look at how many wealthy families of today have members here and there that are different from their families.

THERE WAS HIKMA IN HAVING SO MANY MARRIAGES THAT TIME,
AND THE HIKMA WAS THAT DURING THE TIME OF QUREISH WHEN PBUH STARTED SPREADING ISLAM,
THEY HAD TO INCREASE THE POPULATION OF MUSLIMS WHO CAN HELP THEM IN SPREADING ISLAM,
AS THE POPULATION OF NON MUSLIMS WERE MUCH MORE THAN THE MUSLIMS AND ALSO

HE MARRIED WITH SOME LADIES ONLY TO DO THEIR KIFALA MEANS TO HELP THEM BY MONEY AND TO HELP THEM AS A HUSBAND, AND TO HAVE MUSLIMS CHILDREN FROM THEM SO THAT HE CAN SPREAD MORE ISLAM.
