From the two W's to the two A's ?

Re: From the two W’s to the two A’s ?

If I understand correctly, you want Sami and Mushtaq in this side :hehe:
Bhai when was the last time you watched Pakistan cricket? In the year 2002?

Re: From the two W's to the two A's ?

I think we need to get over Mohammad Sami. He fell off, and he showed that in the test series.

There's one thing that I still don't understand though... I mean, I think it's alright to be optimistic when we see someone bowl well... and I think it's reasonable to get excited at the potential of a player based on a good performance. But every time one of our players performs below par (ever after proving their worth on numerous occasions) we jump the gun and start demanding the board to drop them.

If Asif and Akhtar are to remain our opening attack, I think it is crucial for someone like Rana Naved to be the third pace bowler. No doubt he's having a sub-par series thus far, but he JUST came back from injury... and prior to the injury, he was tearing it up in the county circuit.

I agree with the suggestion that we need a good spin attack in the middle... but other than Danish Kaneria, we really don't have any consistent and reliable spin bowlers. And even Kaneria is not a viable option for the one-days.

I like Afridi's bowling because he picks up the over/hour rate and also manages to usually pick up a wicket or two. It's the second spin-bowler that needs to be more consistent.

Re: From the two W's to the two A's ?

^Hafeez bowling really well, even better than Afridi at times.

Re: From the two W's to the two A's ?

Agreed, but how long is it before Shoaib Malik feels like he's ready to start bowling again? Would we split overs between Hafeez and Malik? Or would we sacrifice one for the other?

I need 6 meter long rope, and you need 4x6x6 real estate :halo:

No, I m not in favor of any change, that was for comparison only. 2Ws were supported by aaqib and Mushtaq, and 2 As don’t have that support.

When we had 2 Ws, Aaqib and Mushtaq were breaking the important partnerships and Wasim and Waqar were getting easy wickets at start and end (that was their (Aaqib+Mushtaq) opinion). So they are missing in the middle, otherwise with Akhter and Asif, Inzy has finally a good attck. IF Sami is in (as Aaqib) or Rana gets his form back, we still need a quality spinner, and Kaneria is not very successful in ODIs, so the only other option is Mushtaq.

(Anyways, Mushtaq was on selectors’ list till last year, I guess, and then someone finally appointed him as a coach to end his career.)

Re: From the two W's to the two A's ?

I think when and if Shabbir will come back after serving his ban,It will be one hell of a good bowling attack,if all 3 can remain fit.

Re: From the two W's to the two A's ?

Umar Gul is better than him. Shabbir Ahmed has bowling problems like chucking and thus he may be out of practise. He does not have much experience and I do not think he will come back. I have read the article for him quitting cricket after one year.

Re: From the two W's to the two A's ?

If any one have seen Matches, where Shabbir and GUL have played together ,shabbir was clearly better bowler,He completed his 50 Wickets in just 10 Tests, fastest for any Pakistani bowler,Gul is also a very good bowler, but some times when he does,nt get wickets, he gets frustrated and starts to bowl too short and Wide.

Re: From the two W's to the two A's ?

Shabbir was really good...id put him in over Gul...but to ne honest the side has a good balance right now...we've got batting down to 10...
Naved and Razzaq are good first change bowlers and Afridi is a good one day bowler...i dont see what the complaints are about...

Re: From the two W’s to the two A’s ?

I would blame it only on Wasim and Waqar and I would say the 2 W’s were very mean and selfish when it comes to teaching the art to someone else. No doubt you have to have a talent but one needs to be polished as well. Like great Khan sahib did to these 2 W’s. Khan sahib knew he will not be around for ever so he made sure he could transfer the art to some one esle and keep Pakistan stand high in the bowling department. But it was unfortunate the 2 W’s kept it to themself instead of doing the right thing and transfering the art to the next Pak line up as Khan sahib did. But the 2 W’s were too mean to teach our own country men because they could not see some else as good as them. Too bad.
