Freedom

Rubiya jee,

you forgot that you are talking to a "maulvi" so theres no question of him being religious, or reading koran!

Assalam Alaikum

Anti-Socrates and Offdachain,

I think you guys are ignoring my question on purpose. Have I dissed you in any way? If I have then please let me know. I'm sorry if I have.

Everyone else,

Thankyou all for replying.

Muslims have no problems in justifying their ideas and actions. The problem is however that secular countries do.

They cannot tell you why their freedoms are good and they cover up wherever their freedoms cause chaos i.e. the Waco incident.

When Muslims do Jihad (not neccessarily war) we are actually trying to spread our ideology, Islam, and people know that we are doing this.

Terrorism means doing something which goes against the interests of a Capitalist country. If Afghanistan and Sudan were Capitalist and America was Islamic then what they did would definitely be considered an act of terrorism.

The Capitalist countries are also doing their own type of Jihad to spread their ideology, Capitalism. They do this through loans (IMF tells them how to pay their loans back and no other way) and cause civil war by economically backing a certain faction in the country i.e. Zaire.

Why are people so blind towards this?

Look at Freedom of Belief. You are allowed to believe in anything you want with a restriction. The restriction is that your beliefs don't affect the running of the country i.e. its ideology. Where there is a restriction there cannot be freedom, so the freedom of belief is a lie.

Reality, time and time suggests that we are not free because there are so many rules and regulations and people are beginning to behave like drones or robots believing the lie that freedom lies in secularism.

Islam doesn't lie. Islam says people are not free. People are bound by the rules of Islam and there is a certain type of behaviour that is demanded of Muslims.

Freedom doesn't exists only in Jannah where you can do absolutely anything you want.

Respected brother Mudassar,

i apologize on disappointing you, you never posted your own opinion throughout the discussion, and certainly , i never knew you meant business.

anyways, the discussion is not over, it has just started..

considering the fact that you have much more knowledge than me, especially on religious matters, your statment will be considered true, by default!

but i have some questions in my mind, which will help me understand your correct statment.

it will be extremely nice of you to share some of your knwoledge with me, and help me clear this thing up in my mind.

i will base my questions on your correct statment...
Islam does not give freedom.

1) how will you define freedom?
2) what koranic verses will you base your above statment on?
3) do the rules and regulations of islam also imply on nonmuslims?
4) keeping in mind you definition of freedom, and your answer to question three, please justify this verse:
"to you, your religion, to me my religion"

surely, it is people like you who help us understand the religion in a better way...

thanx in advance!

sorry mudassar brother, we just started conversing in the middle of your post. i apologize for that

Assalam Alaikum

Thankyou for replying and apologies accepted.

  1. Freedom is defined as anyone defines freedom i.e. do what you want and free from any obligations and restrictions. The only place where we can be free is Jannah.

  2. Various ayahs and ahadith.

  3. The rules of Islam would benefit non-Muslims if they followed them for example cleanliness is half of Imaan but they are not obliged to follow them. Non-Muslims are obliged to follow Islamic rules only if they living in a Islamic State e.g. how money is dealt with, what type of companies they're allowed to open etc.

4.I'm not authorised to give tafseer. To understand what the Prophet (S.A.W.) said with Surah Kafiroon take a look a its history i.e. where it was said.

Assalam Alaikum
