Four-nation transit traffic to be launched this month

ISLAMABAD (December 07 2003): Kazakhstan has invited road transport ministers from Pakistan, China and Kyrgyzstan to Astana, its new capital, for official launch, on December 22 and 23, of the transit traffic through their national road networks.

The aim of the exercise was to provide an outlet to the landlocked nations of Central Asia and Southern China access to port facilities at Karachi for exports and imports to Middle East and Far East.

Pakistan finally starting to make use of its geographical location. With gawadar also being connected to this network, it’ll offer immense oppurtinities for Pak. businessmen to expand into CARs . Can’t wait for the inaugration of this project. Keep an eye out for more news on this front. :jhanda:

This is excellent news. Increase in road transport allows secondary "industries" and commerical enterprizes to blossom. There would be additional needs to be met, along the road infrastructure. Hotels, resturants for these drivers etc.

Plus the amount of revenue generated from taxes of transported goods will benefit the country greatly.
