Italians never looked like progressing in this tournament. They defended like novices and thats a big thing for an Italian team! another coach who achieved so much lost the tournament before it started by leaving out players like Cassano, Aquillani, Balotelli.. He was living in 2006 probably!

Th team wont that bad, as they were pretty much the same group of players that helped em qualify, but as on offensive threat they did not offer much, much was expected from Gilardino who also made my FL team, but he aswell as some other did not deliver in the final 3rd of the field.
Expect some much needed changes and young un's come the Euro's.

^ Gilardino has always underperformed at international level. This team was BAD! Most of them were 2006 heroes.. but guess what... this is 2010! World of Football has evolved! There was a poll at goal dot com website that who has the least effective forward lines amongst top nations and guess which team won!
Add Totti to the players I listed above who WERE available and Lippi the stubborn didnt budge..
