oh yeah absolutely ^^^ well actually don’t trust me I’m the OP…
but when we do dawats and stuff (where there can very often be fried fish) and sometimes I’m absolutely knackered, I will leave the food out overnight (covered) and then put it into boxes and fridge/freezer it the next morning as appropriate. It’s not ideal and really food should be put away within 90 mins of cooling down (thanks to my new-found food hygiene knowledge ) but if it does get left out overnight it’s totally fine to eat it! Just make sure you fridge it now and eat today if possible.
I think you mistook makd’s first line. I think she was replying to the freezing part i.e. do not even try (freezing) it , check if it is good enough to eat and pass it on.
If its not too hot where you left it, the food should be ok.
I have left food in the kitchen and ate it but I know temp at our place at night is low and our kitchen area is pretty cold at night as compared to the bedroom.
I haven’t read the whole thread but just Sara’s fish question…and Sara, please don’t eat it. Fish is potentially hazardous food and it can be safely maintained either below 41F or above 140F..if its in temperature dangle zone ( between these temps) for more than 2 hours, it has to be discarded.
Midnight I too always believed to treat the maid and all equal to us. They are just another human being but now that I have realized that it is better to give away things to them which your family members dont feel like consuming. Atleast, in this way food is not wasted. Yes, it is better if you keep balance with the fresh/new things to the old.
Whenever my mom gives away old clothes to anyone she makes sure she gives a new un- stitched suit too. I like this thing of her. Will try to incorporate this in my life!
