Macro is hard and expensive to master. I believe you should start with the basics first. Do you have a lens to take pictures of water droplets? If you mean something like this:

Then this is not Macro Photography. I believe you should start off with Landscapes and/or Street Photography first. Utilising the lens that came with your D3000.
