Re: Flexing Your Muscles in the Boardroom

I only try to stamp my authority (if you can call it stamp) only when I sense that things are going to point of no return or If I sense that things may end up hurting the interests of company or client.

Now by stamping my authority does not really mean that I stand up and say "my way or highway" instead I try to make client/my team understand thing using my past assignments as case studies. 90% of the time, clients/fellows take it positively, its only that 10% who think that they know everything who causes trouble. Specially if its some external client, it becomes harder to walk the thin line of "client is the boss" and "trying to do best for client".

Re: Flexing Your Muscles in the Boardroom

I tend to hand them over to the Taliban. That is my form of flexing my muscles.

Re: Flexing Your Muscles in the Boardroom

widely varies by team and situation. ranging from trying to inspire, to calling bull**** on excuses, and it was received in different ways ..ranging from getting the first non sales person to get the highest award by the sales EVP in one company to being given the nickname Darth Vader in a different one :)

Re: Flexing Your Muscles in the Boardroom

Lol. I sound like a evil boss. I’m not that bad, honest.

Re: Flexing Your Muscles in the Boardroom

My work ethics, past history, attention to details and dedication to work make people mutually respect each other in the team. I am essentially a team member and believe in team coordination and helping out each other regardless of who the boss is. When it comes to the meeting, even other team leads or company's account managers including strategic account managers can not question the integirity I come with.

So, neither do I flex my muscles on others nor do I let others flex their muscles on me. Friendliness brings more productivity in the team, whereas hostile attitude just brings heat and lots of heat but nothing else.

Re: Flexing Your Muscles in the Boardroom
