It pretty much already has ruined his life :(. He sucks at life, that’s his reason for doing drugs.
No, my parents don’t know. If they did, my dad would probably kick him out the house once he’s 18. He’s older than me. He’s turning 18 real soon. Meaning he’ll be off to college next year.
He knows I knows he does it. But he just won’t stop being such a jerk. I don’t want him to get in trouble from my parents. So telling them is completely out of the question.

Maybe his life sucked before doing drugs? it's a neverending cycle. Things aren't going right so you wrongly turn to drugs, and drugs just make things even worse...

His life didn't suck. That's not the case. It's because my parents spoiled him. And because he's stupid and sucks at school.
If his life being bad was the case, then I bet me and my whole taliban of siblings (We're 5 in all) would be druggies as well.

he’s still young and I dont think its still too late. I think you should tell your parents. they have a right to know. and they will hopefully be able to help him out…if it was me, Id tell my parents.

Nature versus Nurture. Your siblings and you may have been raised under hte same roof, same rules and circumstances, but even with the same upbringing, not all five of u can turn out carbon copies of each other. Everyone copes with things their own way.

Right, but there’s more to it than that. It’s not just the fact that I don’t want him to get in trouble.
And at 18, it’s definately way too late. Especially in America. Freedom from “youth” is basically at 18.

I’m the youngest girl. I have one younger brother. Yea I guess you’re right. It’s mostly just because of the guys he hangs out with.

i don’t think drugs (specially weed) is the reason he doesn’t do well in school. i did weed all throughout high school but i also sincerely knew that I had to get good grades to make something good out of my life. Now I’m in a good uni and working towards being a doctor. So until he realizes the importance of a good education I doubt he would be much better off without weed.

actually, now it's like 35 percent of the kids at schools in usa on average take illegal drugs regularly.

man I don't know about you guys but a lot of people here do weed. i live in toronto and I used to goto a high school where i could count the number of white people with my fingers. There was a huge number of desis in our school and a good number of them used to smoke weed and ofcourse being desi and all many of them are going into the medical profession or engineering and stuff.

Phatima...i used 2 take weed..when i was younger....thx 2 Allah.....i quit..n never touched it again. its been 2 years I havent touched it. Any body who says they are 'addicted 2 weed' is lying. I think your brother can still quit.
However, if therews stronger drugs involved..like crack for example...then theres problems.

One thing I will never understand is…why generally guys tend to take it more than girls?
especially for desis…I know MANY desi guys who take it. However I DONT even know 1 desi girl who does.
guys are just stupid anyway
