I have great respect for Dr. Adib Rizvi. He started free kidney transplants at Civil Hospital Karachi years back and now a liver transplant that also for free. Our poor country men can now really reap the benefit of this service, who cannot afford to go abroad and pay for the procedure. May Allah bless him.
a gr8 achievement indeed to do a liver transplant........but i wonder what the immediate impact of this is, or let me rephrase, what benefit does the pakistani society have at this moment (-if such operations will be done on larger scale-). It can be argued that it wud have been better not to spend millions of rupees on such procedure (from which only one person will benefit) but to spend it on things like TBC-medication, hepatitis vaccination, from which thousands of ppl can benefit on the very short term.
I'm not wanting to discourage this, but i think the priorities shud be set differently
