I don't think what Amjad is saying in the video is entirely accurate. This was not a harmless virus that just kept track of the number of copies made. It was destructive, wiped out user's data, and replicated itself to other disks (and not just copied ones). A virus (especially a destructive one) is never a good thing, no matter how cleverly it is programmed.
