Aint it a lil unfair to compare the Big B of today with SRK or HR of today.
How about comparing the AB from the 80s’ to SRK today… and/or defining some clear criteria for comparison:
e.g.
- Acting Versatility: AB: 9/10 ; SRK: 6 / 10
(SRK always does the same types of roles, while Amitabh has played’em all…) - Vocals: AB: 8/10 ; SRK: 6/10
(No match for AB’s baritone that he’s lended to so many movie commentaries, TV shows etc. … besides, he can sing too!) - Universal Appeal: AB: 9/10 ; SRK: 8/10
(SRK appeals more to the youth and the ladies, while Amitabh has a broader fan base irrespective of age and gender)
Even with the above dimensions of comparison, I’m not satisfied that we can compare the two individuals. We’re talking about two different generations of actors who appeal to somewhat different demographics. There are those who watched DDLJ before they watched Deewaar or Sholay. All I’d say it that while AB is regarded as the actor of the millennium, SRK is perhaps the superstar of Bollywood today.
