I thought I should take this opportunity to mention the role Pakistan played in the independence movement of Morocco. Ahmed Balafrej, an independence leader of Morocco who also headed the 1st government of independent Morocco carried a Pakistani passport in order to present the case for independence of Morocco at the UN because France had denied him that right otherwise. Pakistani ambassador to the UN at the time, Zafar Ullah Khan, issued Balafrej, Pakistani passport on an urgent basis for the cause in 1952, and Balafrej kept that passport framed on his office wall after becoming the head of the government of Morocco.
