and that reminds me.. I was (still am) insanely in love with Po from Kungfu Panda and when I got that miniature Po that they were givin out at mc dee's for liek a buck from my fiance, I almost slept with it until we were married (however gay that my sound). And today, it proudly stands on my dresser amidts the makeup n works.
Also, another territory to explore would be to get him a naughty/ playful gift. Like a silky red boxer.. and this list can go on :)

bhenjee- you are totally right, guys love pampering their lady, my fiance has bought me anything and everything about 75% of the things i own are from him!!, he loves spoiling me and gets me presents all the time, one time i was joking about this gucci bag that was for $4500 and when we were having dinner he gave me a box wrapped in a bow with a card saying, "there's no price for me to see a smile on your face" and in the box was the gucci bag !!! I dont know what i did to deserve such a loving partner. but anyways your right if get him somthing really nice it might hurt his ego, i love your cookie idea its simple but it shows you care. i just have to find somthing like that for me any other suggertions?

How about an 'Experience Day' like flying a plane, going Formula-One racing, hot-air balooning, etc? One of my friends recently treated her guy to one of these and he was speechless apparently! It also happened to be something she could be a part of too- something much more worthwhile and fulfilling than a gadget that'll be replaced with another one soon. X

Plus, maybe he's getting all the software he needs from his blackberry. Some folks are just blackberry people.
It doesn't have to be work related, you know. Poor guy probably spends his entire day and so far, prolly his entire life, with med school crap. Get him something that can make him feel like he's an actual human.

If you live near him, you can cook for him, and freeze up a bunch of stuff so he has food to eat when he gets home and needs to study.

Take him on a vacation somewhere when he has a weekend off and no tests near.
