*theoretically the answer is yes, anyone with complete admin rights and access to the physical path of gupshup can read ANY PM of any user after installing a vbulletin hack, without the user getting to know it, and after having read it, the PM will show as “unread”.

So the answer to your question is YES, but if the gupshup admins or any other specific staff person does it, that is something we cannot say, and even if they did they would never say openly, so the answer you will get from the mods/admins will always be a NO, but possibility wise the answer is **YES, because **it is possibl to do it.

Not just for GUPSHUP but any other website all the info is stored in the mySQL DB, so not just via httpd pages, but one can just read the PM messages from the DB entries.

So nothing is safe on internet, do exchange PM’s but always delete your inbox, sentbox regularly.*

If it is something important use http://www.hushmail.com/ to communicate because the provide privacy, and SSL encryption, or you can setup your own mailserver etc etc.

Only Admins can read private entries, Mods cant.

Only Admins can enter, change password, signature, avatar, etc can even read private messages.

yes both Mods and Admins can see invisible members, they can see your every movement (on the forum). Beware…

oh to answer another of ur questions: Mods can also see invisible persons (along with admins ofcourse)

Most of the replies given above by PA and ASN are correct. admins theoretically have the powers but I can assure you there is no abuse of them. We have a check and balance system. Only 3 admins have access to the control panel and they do not abuse their powers at all. Admins have access to private blogs but not to private entries.

Please let me assure you once again that your privacy is not voilated at all. :)
