Jazakillahukhair … I’m aware of certain differences in ahadith, but my dilemma is that it is not my job to interpret them for rulings or to be going around giving people cause for doing as per what makes them feel easy. My post is merely mentioning the Hanafi position. You might be right about it being permissible, in which case there is a lot that is permissible such as praying in bed. Permissibility for relaxing something should be on the basis of a real hardship. So long as she knows the “correct” position and gets allowance for relaxing something in prayer by a qualified person then she is able to respond to her critics that “yes I know this is not the best way to do it, but I have been given concession for this by a qualified mufti as I find it less awkward to do, etc”
