Federal ministries increased to 32

Actually, not in my view. Each society/province/area has a different unique culture, and we will do it a grave injustice by taking that away. Education system is a prime example. We don't need a special ministry for it at the federal level. What we need is a uniform testing organization which is responsible for testing students at particular levels to grade their performance. That will help them getting education in institutes of higher education and that helps employers in different parts of the country to assess the best candidates.

Any matters where we need all provinces to sit together should be dealt with by the "Inter-provincial coordination" ministry. All provinces should be free to have their own education policy. They pretty much have it anyway. The federal education ministry is largely a waste of time and money.

Similarly Health. Why do we need a separate health ministry at federal level? All provinces should take care of it. In case of any national epidemic, all provinces can coordinate using the "Inter-Provincial Affairs". Approval of all new medicines should be at a national level because it is much more efficient, and that is typically done by an FDA-like organization, and not by a Ministry.

What else? :)

My personal opinion; health, agriculture, Education, Industries should be given to the provinces. You do need a federal commerce Ministry though, everything else needs to be regulated by Inter provincial co ordination. You can have federal commissions for women and other things, which report to the National Assembly or senate and have federl oversight committes in either house to monitor inter provincial co ordination. this fight for Ministries that's going on is digusting if you ask me, Musharraf is cleaning every good thing he's done over 3 years with dirt by making this massive cabinet and rewarding lotas.

It's the same old problem in Pakistan, using 10 people to do the job of one, duplication and fat Ministries which have never performed fairly are the last thing Pakistan needs.

All ministries cater for every men, women and child in Pakistan. These should be based on functions and requirements of government. Not based on gender. By singling out 'Women Development' as a separate ministry, you are treating them as a second-class citizens.

Pardon me, I don't see a bright future if we don't give Women power to rule. Sex discrimination has always been with the women of Pakistan. Our women are dying every day with stupid Puchyaat Systems; and there is no one who can look after for it as Central Govt. of Pakistan doesn't have a right to take charge on them.

You are pardoned. :) May I suggest, that a woman be made the Minister for Interior Affairs. She will be far more powerful to take care of these issues, than to be saddled with a lame-duck, under-financed Ministry of Women Development.

Good idea, Faisal :)

Do you know who's currently Minister for Interior Affairs? Last time was Moin-ud-din Haider. The guy was sincere and honest.

Our new Minister of Interior is my name-sake. Unfortunately, I wish he is named something else, cz he is a totally inept and corrupt person. He is Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hiyat (Lota #1 from PPPPP). He got this prized ministry for getting eight valuable votes to Jamali saheb.

If you are hoping for some meaningful police reforms, don't hold your breath. :)

Musharraf of course is the Minister of Lotas.

I am sick of this coutnry and its corrupt people.

wowzers.

I believe one more ministry is being added to the list. The ‘Ministry For MNA’s Not Running A Ministry’ (MFMNANRAM)

According to a leaked memo, it is understood that the Ministry will meet every month, with the venue alternating between the Gymkhana’s in Karachi, Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar.

The first task for the members of MFMNANRAM will be to build a gymkhana in Quetta and Peshawar so that the third and the fourth month Ministerial meeting could take place on time.

The leaked memo also contained the agenda for the first cabinet meeting of MFMNANRAM:

09:00 - Breakfast
12:00 – Lunch
15:30 – Chai and Samosas
17:00 – Agree agenda for next meeting
17:05 – Close

Please send all your complaints regarding the non-scheduling of the Khomi Tarana to the speaker of MFMNANRAM. The name of this person will be communicated after MFMNANRAM has decided whether a man or a woman should fill this position.

No. 1 Lotas are MQM :hehe:

LOL@Faisal

Hmmm…something to ponder, Power Tariff Cut by 12 Paisa Per Unit

Cabinet also directs reduction in gas tariff and control over prices of ghee, flour and sugar
