...how much more beautiful and meaningful can you get than those? Not traditional desi names for sure but if its true that Islaamic names need only have beauty in their meaning, then those are 2 that fit the bill to a T!

and mama, i agree about grace and rose. this is also why two of my favourite, and serious considerations for future babies IA, are Eden and Eva/Eve/Ava.
i think people just need to get used to the concept. there are also such beautiful arabic/turkish/persian etc. names out there too --i think so long as the meaning is beautiful, the name should be considered!

Mama of 3 - i see your point, hear your point and agree BUT i wanted to keep some cultural connection to the middle east in picking a name...i find that when desi people give gora names it comes off as trying to be white...NOT it's a good name.
I love the name Amelie - it means good woman in spanish but can't use it the closes arabic is AmilA or AmiLay. Both mean god's helper but the pronounciation wasn't the same as amelie and we didn't like it.
I also love the the name Eliana. It means god's gift in Hebrew...but thought my family would be like of all the good muslim nams out there you picked a jewish one.

Aaila is a turkish name meaning moonlight. Pronounced like naila. I loved it till I saw andaz apna apna with amir khan going aila aila all over the place. if u can ignore that then i guessithe name is lovely.
