Fatwa Against Suicide Bombings..

Re: Fatwa Against Suicide Bombings..

98:6 Those who reject (Truth), among the People of the Book and among the polytheists, will be in Hell-Fire, to dwell therein (for aye). *They are the worst of creatures. *

Re: Fatwa Against Suicide Bombings..

MQ, I wish your enlightened point of view was shared by all. The above post points out how some can use scripture to promote ignorance and intolerance which leads to discrimination and violence.

Re: Fatwa Against Suicide Bombings..

I’m not promoting anything. Just stating a fact:
To a Muslim, his brother’s life is dearer than anyone else’s. That is the brotherhood of Islam.
End of Discussion !!!

Re: Fatwa Against Suicide Bombings..

Hunk - not quite yet. If that was really so, then why the need for all this violence between Shiia, Sunni, and Ahmadi (crud, forgot the spelling again, I'm old, forgive me)? If a Muslim life was truly valued above all others then these instances of violence would never exist. Also doesn't explain the daily bombings of Muslims by their 'brother'.

That assertion is more wishful thinking than the actual truth on the ground.

Re: Fatwa Against Suicide Bombings..

Why do people even need a Fatwa to say suicide bombings are Haraam, isn't it common sense?

Re: Fatwa Against Suicide Bombings..

"98:6 Those who reject (Truth), among the People of the Book and among the polytheists, will be in Hell-Fire, to dwell therein (for aye). They are the worst of creatures."

So those of us who reject Truth (Islam?) are the "worst of creatures" and are condemned to Hell?

So that would make you better?

You are an Islamic Supremacist?

Re: Fatwa Against Suicide Bombings..

We can turn around anything to back up our personal views. That however, is not how a religion is meant to be followed.

OG — The life of one person is not worth more than the life of another person. In the eyes of God we are all equal, and how can it be possible that one person is worth more than another. However, as for the issue of ‘ranks’ - we humans put them there.

As far as the quoted verse is concerned, the “worst of creatures” would mean a person who is doing wrong, a sin etc. It does not mean his/ her life is worthless in the eyes of God. Doing something wrong does not equate to a life being worthless. For every life has value.

And God can forgive the biggest of sins. As humans we can hardly even start with what life is worth more and what life is worthless.

 • If a Muslim life was truly valued above all others then these instances of violence would never exist. Also doesn’t explain the daily bombings of Muslims by their ‘brother’. *

Minah you are wrong. It is not just so called Muslims that kill. Look around you. Tune in to the news and you would be surprised. It is wrong to say that these instances of violence would not exist if Muslims thought in Gods eyes everyone is equal. Every life is equal.

These exist because one side thinks it is right and is out to prove the other is wrong. They exist because of corruption , power, greed and other such vile things.

Re: Fatwa Against Suicide Bombings..

MQ, You don't agree with the Islamic punishment of beheading one for Shirk, or stoning an adulterer to death? That’s interesting.

Re: Fatwa Against Suicide Bombings..

Madhanee I dont believe in following one aspect of the religion while discarding the rest. Plus I dont believe Ive said yes to the above. I simply said that every life has value.

Doing wrong doesnt mean the life is worthless. Plenty of people do everything wrong under the sun (according to Islam) then turn around and become people who live by every rule of Islam .

Re: Fatwa Against Suicide Bombings..

M_Q - again, I never said it was only Muslims, I was directly speaking with Hunk about the statement he made:
To a Muslim, his brother's life is dearer than anyone else's. That is the brotherhood of Islam.
End of Discussion !!!
I said nothing about Muslims believeing anyone was equal, I was addressing Muslim's believing Muslim's lives are more dearer with my reply.

Party lines, American or Muslim are the height of hypocrisy.

Re: Fatwa Against Suicide Bombings..

Not to side with the opposition here guys (he's an idiot after all), but I can see his point that another muslim's life is more important, to a muslim, than a non-muslims life would be. Wouldn't each of us say the same thing about an american life; that it's more important to us (but not more valuable overall)?

Re: Fatwa Against Suicide Bombings..

I don't understand these amerikkans they kill 100,000 iraqis and they don't value it at all its like it did'nt happen an inconvenice.

Re: Fatwa Against Suicide Bombings..

Dawn says something more that for these scholars suicide bombing is un-Islamic only in Pakistan…

http://www.dawn.com/2005/05/18/top6.htm

However, they said that the fatwa was applicable only in Pakistan.

Edict against suicide attacks

LAHORE, May 17: A group of 58 religious scholars belonging to all schools of thought issued here on Tuesday an edict (fatwa) against suicide attacks. However, they said that the fatwa was applicable only in Pakistan. The edict was issued by Ruet Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Muneebur Rahman at a press conference where only some TV channels had been invited.
