Yeah i was facinated for a while not culture wise but language wise with Russian i learnt a bit then gave up im thinking of going back to learning it, for me it was because its widely spoken and i like how it sounds.
I have many friends who get obsessed usually with places like spain and Turkey because of their history and are drawn closer because they are muslim or in the past were predominantly muslim countries.
