Umar Ibn Khattab was truly a hardcore firm believer...
The prophet once said about him "If there was to be any Prophet after me, it would've been Umar". He was amongst the ones who were promised paradise by the Prophet and not only that, he accepted Islam later and yet outdid people who has accepted Islam before him. This only shows us that Guidance is in Allah's hand and if He (Almighty) wills, a person can change overnight and even outdo others who accept Islam before you. We have to do our job and leave the rest to Allah Al-Mighty!
