that’s probably true, but i think the “tasteless” look comes from the limitations on creativity and originality in desi wear…traditional style is always praised, but experimentation is usually considered failure. these experimentations often involve being slightly more revealing, likely due to the previously mentioned difficulty in evolving desi clothing.

You can be creative and original and still be tasteful... it seems they're just trying to copy american styles, like that zebra print they just slap onto a sari.. and what is the point of being more revealing? Why reveal so much?
