The decision about Vaughan's fitness wont be taken until after the team reach Multan for the test match. This would be a big blow to England if he is ruled out of the series. He is more important to them as a captain then as a batsman.

Vaughan will stay with the squad but remains doubtful for the first test. Essex's Alastair Cook has been called up as cover for Vaughan.
