Muslims toh abhi bhi confused hain about contraception. For a vast majority it's haraam so we might as well forget about changing that aspect warna blasphemy case ban jaye ga.
I think property issues are that girls take away money while sons retain it. Someone even made a comment to my parents how my marrying someone all the family's money is going to go out.

I'm an only daughter so it's 1/2 for me. My family doesn't have a strong tradition of distributing property islamically (my father has received zilch after my grandfather passed away and I don't think any of his aunts received a paisa). Bas add the katrina wala paisa paisa song here. The more a family gets obsessed with collecting inheritance for their sons the more Islam goes out the window.

yes, Islam is the sacred sacrificial lamb/goat when it comes to inheritance. that's sad though. no wonder why in some areas some Muslims prefer to marry their daughter off to Qur'aan so they can keep the wealth they have amasses over the years legally/illegally.

How come inheritance play role in family planning? I mean people don't know whether its son or daughter , until the child is conceived.
