Now u can show these off to everyone...can i ask who did ur makeup and what was the cost of all this package? Also is that ur real wedding photo or...? Either way, u look beautiful mashaAllah,...and urdaughter is so cute mashaAllah!
Re: Family pics taken...finally
thanks respect 786:) . No that is not my actual valima day picture...I didnt have that nice of a pic of me on my actual valima. I had pics taken wearing my valima outfit aswell as family pics. My brother in law's friend is a professional photographer so my hubby asked him to..dont know why I didnt ask earlier and he did the pics for free, their are over 100 pics! As my hubby is friends with him. I did make up myself as I thought that if you can do good makeup yourself, why do you need makeup artist?
I had a makeup artist do my makeup when I had the pics in valima outfit...Did you see my actual wedding day pics on here? I took them off couple of days ago
oh thats so cool! And no i didnt see ur wedding pics, would u upload them again? i wud love to see them and im so happy for u, its like revolution has occured lol!!
For ur valima makeup, how much did she charge u? I just wanna have a rough idea of prices cos its not the real thing is it really? so just wondering cos i dont wanna pay hundreds! Anyway, plz do show me ur wedding pics plz, i wud luv to see them :-) xx
Re: Family pics taken...finally
Ami, all the pics are very nice...u are looking gorgeous.MASHALLAH! a really beautiful family.
Re: Family pics taken...finally
thanks again...actually I did not pay for my valima makeup either....because the beautician who did my makeup knows my mum quite well...I mean my mum teaches her children quran like everyday and does not charge..Therefore, my mum asked if she got do my hair and makeup, its the least she could do. She agreed...as she wasnt busy...
I know that prices range from as little as £70 to roughly £400 but I wouldnt spend that much as it wasnt the real valima day! If I had to pay, for instance if my mum didnt know any makeup artist, then I would only be willing to pay about £150 max. So you want to get photos done aswell?? Where do you live?
I will put my pics up again especially for you:)

MashAllah you're very pretty, very khoubsurat eyes :) and so is your daughter. like the simple and happy family look!
hi ami123,
i just saw your pictures that are posted in your profile album under "my wedding" and if those are your actual wedding day pictures (it certainly seems like they are) then I have to say this to you... What were you complaining about girl!!! Your dress is so full of embroidery (completely bhara hova) and gorgeous ... your makeup is as decent as it can be, there's nothing off about the makeup ...and your memorable moments seem to be have been captured quite well, in pics that are clear.
I got married in 2006...and I paid the professional photographer close to 1000 dollars for the photos on wedding day...and guess what, they are still not ALL perfect, really only a couple of pics of myself thaqt i like...the thing is I got married in the US, so sometimes no matter how hard u search or how much you pay (depending on what state/city you are in) the makeup artists or photographers catering to the desi community here are not as good as the professionals in big cities in pakistan like lahore, islamabad, karachi!!! if you go to goray makeup artists and goray photographers then that often doesnt suit us pakistanis (i am not saying there arent exceptions but generally speaking) either coz their style is so different than that required for a desi wedding
i had to do all the shopping here, even for the wedding dress, i placed an order with the desi botique owner here in US and she had the dress shipped from pak...and when the dress arrived and i saw it, I almost had a heart attack, she had taken so much embroidery out in the design that i specified, it was not bhara hova at all... looked very halka...and not like the main wedding dress, but what could I do i had it made to match with my jewlery and all, and where was i gonna find another dress on short notice....by the way I had offered her to pay her moonh maangi full asking price for the dress (close to 1600 dollars) so that she wouldnt skimp on anything..and guess what that's exactly what she did even with me having no problem with money...
and with the makeup, i payed close to 200 dollars for it and had gone to a trial beforehand. everything else with the make up was fine, the desi makeup artist did a lot of mehnat, but kinda bullied me into using fake eyelashes, that look so bad in all my "professional" closeup photos.
so remember, these type of mishaps happen with people even now, in 2006, 07, 08, and even with ppl who have professional photographers and makeup artists...
I don't know where u got married and where your sister is getting married in UK or pak?
we pardesi ppl have limited resources...even if we pay big bucks for makeup and phtography we still cannot compete with the work that is being done in forexample famous lahore beauti parlors and photography studios..its a big business there, they know how to capture a desi wedding and how to adorn a desi bride...generally speaking those pictures and most of those brides still look more amazing then anyone getting married outside pak..
your actual wedding day pictures are perfectly fine, and you shouldn't be ashamed/embarrased to show them to anyone...they are 100 times better than the impression you gave to people from your previous posts...
the new family pics you took are amazing too !!!
so hope my wedding dress story, makeup story, and photographer story can tell you, that sometimes if its not in your qismat, money doesn't buy PERFECTION and money doesn't buy happiness and money doesnt mean satisfaction with what you payed for...your wedding day pics are still better than mine i think, considering they were taken so many years ago.
Re: Family pics taken...finally
Hey, Ami123, those real pics of u are really nice, Honestly, u look really pretty (and mashaAllah u have natural beauty!) U know i was expecting ur pics to be really blurred and not nice at all....but seriously, dont depress urself that they're not nice! (u wud feel so much better if u looked at mine! they r hwat u call c.r.a.p_ u look beautiful...i will show u a pic of how simple my wedding pic was!! And u guys make such nice jodi :-) ur registery pic is so sweet, its like one of those from a classic english movie!
Re: Family pics taken...finally
amnaar: thanks for your lovely comments about my wedding pics:).
I am sorry to hear about your wedding mishaps..Why dont you show me of your pics, i'm sure you looked great and the photos are not as bad as you are making out...They can't be as bad as mine as you had a professional photographer, so atleast you got sharp, clear photos...
I did not have a professional photographer, I had pics taken from a normal film camera( not many people had digital back then). I also did the makeup, duppatta setting etc all by myself as could not find anyone to do my makeup at short notice ( we had a very unplanned wedding).
I know what you are saying that pakistani photographers and makeup artists are much better at desi weddings..unlike here in the UK. Here they cannot capture a desi wedding, I agree with you...I got married in the UK and my sister is also getting married here...but she will have a nice wedding as we have more of a budget now.
Thanks for saying my lengah are nice atleast I had a choice of what lenga I was going to wear on walima as mother in law let me choose, which was nice of her..but then again she only gave me two options, a pink lenga or green lengah, I choose green for walima.
Please post your pics if you can, I want to see:)
Re: Family pics taken...finally
